Spuds game

Post by Moonchester on Thu Sep 06, 2018 4:17 pm

Just stumbled into this video of the Spuds stadium, shot on 25/08/2018..

"just a few safety systems not ready" my ass.. that looks at least 3-4 months away from completion..

Once the building site around the ground has been cleared there is a substantial amount of paving and tarmac to be laid not to mention barriers/signage etc. then after all that they have to get a safety certificate issued and if you ask me that pitch is unplayable  Smile

Well, I guess you could argue that one of the safety systems is having the thing finished Laughing

They've not even laid the turf, looking at that. It'll need a month or more just to get it properly bedded in. Well, unless they're not learning the lesson from Wembley, of course...

Surely the FA have to step in and take action against them? Its unacceptable that other teams (us) are being screwed over because of this debacle.

The FA don't give a shit....otherwise, they'd have already deducted points from Spurs and fined them heavily.

Levy's just a greedy bastard.

As for Man City....they've been very weak as well in all of this.

According to the London Evening Standard, the FA are perfectly happy with the situation and have offered to let Spurs continue using Wembley if they need more time!! What happened to the rule about only one ground in a season? FA are a joke!

"technically" if they play at Wembley for the whole season they don't get points knocked off as it's only the 1 ground for the season etc...
the second they play a game there I expect the points to come toppling.. unless the FA look the other way because they are rinsing the fans in Wembley whilst they are there.

but the ground in that state there is no way they couldn't have spoken out earlier and not had the game selected by Sky and cause the whole domino effect for all the games.

This morning, they claimed that it's not gonna be until the end of January, in which case, they'll apply to stay at Wembley all season.

As for using 1 ground all season...haven't they applied to play at MK Dons for the CC game? They'll just say "that's only PL rules"...utter joke.

It seems that UEFA (FFP, CSKA etc) and even our own FA (Anfield attack), seem to treat other clubs with great leniency compared to us.

Just happened to catch a bit if the American Football live from Wembley today, we should refuse to play, the pitch is going to be lethal. They have barely started and it's all cut up.

Yeah, it's a fucking joke. But I think Pep has come out and said the right thing..."nothing we can do, we just get in with it".....don't put any excuses into the players mind - just give the spuds a battering.

The pitch last night was hard and the double set of pitch markings and faded areas where the NFL technical areas had been was a joke. The fact that Pep did not risk KDB from the start spoke volumes.
Had we lost last night i am sure many blues would have been far less casual about it and far from happy.
Yes it's the same for Spurs but we are only interested in the safety of OUR players. We also need to look at the bigger picture here.
Spurs have been treated with kid gloves by the FA over this whole new ground fiasco, the deadline for the ground being ready has been shifted several times and is now into the new year.
The fact that the opposition clubs and more so their fans are being inconvenienced and financially penalised through having to re-arrange travel and accommodation arrangements and in many cases time off work, does not bother the FA at all it seems.
It's time the FA grew some balls and told Levi that they are going to impose a fine and/or points deduction, i cannot believe that this whole debacle is not in contravention of FA rules.
