City vs Burnley

Post by Topdawg on Fri Oct 19, 2018 8:29 pm

I'd like to see Kev start

Ederson
Walker, Stones, Otamendi, Delph/Zinchenko
Fernandinho
KdB, David Silva
Sterling, Aguero. Sane

Feels harsh leaving Bernardo out, but I'd save him for Shaktar. There's also the rumour that he had a slight injury.

Ederson
Walker Otamendi Stones Mendy

Sterling Silva B Silva D

Would be great if Foden got an hour from the start before being replaced by KDB, but I can’t realistically see him starting in the Prem unless we’ve got a healthy lead at the top of the table. Burnley are a pretty physical side so it might be a day for Vinny and Ottamendi at the back.

Did this earlier in the season where Mendy played left wingback with no right wingback. Back 4 when we’re defending, back 3 when we’re in possession, I think with Bernado playing a deeper role. Either that, or Mendy’s in goal and Ederson’s up front!

Hilarious! Should be a pen, ref bottles it, 2 mins later it’s 3-0.

Walk in the park it would seem, bet match of the day say the dodgy 2nd goal changed the game.

Not a dive for me, but its the sort penalty that they never seem to give to Sane or Sterling. 5-0 is a score that was deserved. Burnley don't look the team they were last season, but you get the feeling the will still cause an upset amongst the top 6 on their day.

Bit annoyed, had 4-0 in the Super6. For the second goal, pen or not, looks like the ball was out of play before Silva pulled it back but it didn’t really affect things, we were totally dominant. Decent game for Mahrez and a Mourinho meltdown at the end of the Chelsea game - happy days!

Comfortable game but disappointed at the 2 unnecessary assaults by Sane and Kompany that on another day could and probably should have seen red! If it had been the other way round we would have been raging about it.

Felt a bit for Kompany as it  was a suicide ball from LaPorte which put   vinny in trouble and  lennon intentionally or not, played the ball with his hand. Lowton & Sane must have had some words as I have never seen Sane react like that before to just one player all the time? Was Lucky he didn't see red?.

Couldn't help laughing at pundit Keith Andrews who kept saying the score was harsh on Burnley? If Serge had his Scoring boots on & Hart made 3 top saves as well as the silva & Mahrez misses it could have been 10 or more...….. & that was without City being at their optimum best>>>>>

Thought Sane should have seen red, simply for his petulance. Absolutely no need. As for Vinny, thought he was looking at the ball, so a fair yellow imo.

Burnley and Dyche can fuck off imo....moaning mard-arse.  Razz Razz Razz

I was the other way round Bluey,

Kompany could, and probably should have seen red. although he didn't go through him or full force, if that was against us we would have been asking for a red.   we have however seen 7 tackles worse than that against us without any sending offs in the last year and a half so consistency isn't just against our players..

Sane, was petulant leg up, no danger or malice, nailed on yellow card and move on with that one.
Still not sure if it was over anything said about the penalty on Sane that never was...
MOTD managed to give us replays of the ball being out from the angle on the half way line (where it will look out), but didn't get a replay of the bumble into the back of Leroy so can't even say if it was a pen or not.
In the ground, everyone stopped for waiting for the ref to give it (even the linesman it seems), then he waved his hands out..

Shame that them 3 decisions really took away from what was an easy game to go through. Fodens shot didn't make highlights on match of the day, smart turn and he wellied it. Hard saved everything he should be expected to, and probably another 3 or 4 more that would be goals on another day.

Nice touch most people stayed in the ground as he was last man off the pitch...

Not much said if anything about Hendricks high studs up challenge either which could have been a red instead of yellow, or the fact Lennon's controlling the ball with his hand was a contributing factor in Kompany's tackle. Anyway it was 5-0 we still had 11 on the pitch and Dyche can moan all he likes about the 2nd goal but the fundamental basics whether right or wrong is play to the whistle, The Burnley players can only blame themselves.
