Good job for Stoke the chances we created didn't go in in the 1st half, or it would've been a cricket score. Absolutely fantastic, i'm that happy i've sorted a sitter out for the wee one and i'm taking the Mrs out for a meal and a few drinks after. Gonna get shedded in the local tonight. Yesssssssss!!!!!!!!!!!

We dominated the 90 minutes, more or less. Stoke muscled their way back in the 2nd half but they just weren't creating chances - one clear chance that Joe blocked. Then for us, soon as the ball came to Ya Ya I knew it was in.

Huth on Mario... how did he get away with that? Will there be 'afters' in the league game?

Anyway. 1-0. Trophy. Now go forth and get absolutely ruined, you Blues!

Mario kept his cool though didn't he. Proud of him today - he actually looked like a team player!! (ha ha). Great win - finally!! Happy for Tony Book, Buzzer and Frannie - the old guard who were nerously watching just like us. Happy too for all the City bloggers on our 606 forum and our Blue Moon forum.

cheers

Yeh, Mario was mint today, Wensdi.

His on-pitch interview was priceless; I think he described us as being "shit" all season, then asked if it was "okay to say that"! I might've misheard him because I was too busy screeching like a banshee to be honest... When it cut to the studio, Chiles said "No, it isn't okay to say that..." Very funny.

I also like Joe Hart slapping the interviewer down for bringing up united, saying something like "don't care about them..."

I've bypassed Cloud 9. Round about Cloud 20 at the moment.

No he was more honest than that, he was being asked if it was his best performance for city and he said He's been shit all season but he played more for the team today and enjoyed it.

In that case, lee1pen, I stand corrected. In my defence it was very fucking noisy right at that moment and I wasn't listening properly!

Fair play to the lad then.

I didn't get any of the interviews Crying or Very sad because Fox Sports are too concerned interviewing sodding Warren Barton and the like (even though he said great things about us). I hate the coverage over here - no pre-match build up - straight on with the game and a just the lifting of the cup. I'm gagging to watch the footage on the OS. If it had been American football we would have seen every little thing.

Here's a little bit of after-match, Wensdi - namely Mario swearing!

http://tinyurl.com/5wpmrcb

Would it surprise you to know the Sunday Mirror has highlighted Mario and compared it to Rooney swearing - therefore should receive a 2 match ban or whatever. As you can see, it's NOTHING like Looney's indescretion, Mario was actually quite polite.

I don't know where to start. What a fantastic day !!!

It just feels amazing to have finally won something after all the years of hurt. I haven't stopped smiling since yesterday. Got absolutely hammered in a pub in Wembley after the match & I managed to get Tony Book, Buzzer & Dave Watson to sign my match programme. 3 legends !!!

A day I will never forget !

Wow TMG - I bet you are buzzin'. Lots of shots of the crowd - and it was quite emotional to see a lot of men weeping after the whistle went. I had goosies.

I'm well jealous tony, but hopefully I can make it for the future cup games... feels like the huge monkey is off out backs (players/manager/fans) and now we can all relax and play football!
can't wait to see these "mind blowing" players that two have supposedly sighed already! bring on pre season friendlies!!!

Woke up this morning in an alcoholic daze, cardboard tongued but still elated after a top week ending with an awesome weekend in London.Met up with a few Stoke lads, had a banquet in Chinatown and ended up dancing with the Hare Krishna in picadilly circus.Loved it all!!!

No, it wouldn't. Even though Micah dropped an F bomb just minutes earlier.

Mario, everyone's favourite naughty boy! He had a good game, avoided getting rattled by Shawcross and Huth, hope he continues with this level of performance and he'll be a decent addition.

I'm exhausted... what a weekend...

That would be the same Sunday Mirror that gave Silva and Balo 5 points and called Mario lazy etc while he got the man of the match yet gave the stoke forwards 6 points for doing sod all...that would be the ones.

lee1 talking about the sunday mirror, this is what their rag columnist michael calvin had to say:

"I can’t be a hypocrite and pretend the prospect of City’s impending dominance fills me with joy."

I wonder how can you have a job with these kind of biased viwes!

To be fair to Calvin, that particular piece was well written. In his regular column, however, he needlessly stuck his tongue up Fergie's arse again and basically said 'they' had reasserted an inferiority complex on us even before we'd kicked a ball.

I can tell Calvin that nobody involved with Manchester City was feeling inferior by the end of the afternoon.

And, yeh, those player ratings were utter mince.
