Break even on transfers? Empty Break even on transfers?

This may be the turning point in transfer activity for us. The first season, after so many, where we break even. Add to that so many players on long term contracts, we look like we'll have some stability and maybe we will splash big cash on top talent and let the youngsters come through as well.

MP has confirmed that he wants Nasty, Richards, Guidetti and Sinclair to leave.

Transfers in:

Mangala - £32M
Zuculini - £1.5M
Fernando - £12M
Sagna - free
Big Willy - £6M

Total - £51.5M

Transfers out:

GazBaz - £2M
Rodwell - £10M
Garcia - £13M
Nasty - £15M
Richards - £4M
Sinclair - £4M
Guidetti - £5M

Total - £53M

Break even in our accounts and net transfers of zero as well.

I'll be sad to see Micah go....however, we've become a team that can no longer survive on sentiment and the harsh reality is that he has been given plenty of chances over the past few years, but every time he does get a game or two, he breaks down again.

Not really sure what's happened to Nasty. He looked like he had loads of potential 2 years ago. Maybe it's just down to the fact that he hasn't trained on and therefore, hasn't had the opportunity to get game time. Still, with:

Sagna and Zaba at RB
Kolorov and Clichy at LB
Vinny, DeM, Mangala, Boyata at CB

There's 8 players for 4 places....so Micah and Nasty are definitely surplus to requirements.

As for Sinclair...he showed enough in pre-season for some clubs to come in for him - would hope for more than £4m though in today's market.

And we're buying the League? Rolling Eyes

I'd also hope for a few quid more for Sinclair, Guidetti and Richards. At least we should have some sell on clauses or bonuses for achievements. Just say Micah gets fit and stays fit and goes on to play for England again, I'd like us to get a bonus because we are selling him on the cheap.

Would rather have Nasty than Boyata but unfortunately the fact Boyata counts as home grown is probably the only reason he is still there. Although on his day Richards is probably a better centre back, but I think his crystal legs have finished his chances.

Nasty counts as HG for this season, so MP prefers Boyata. I think Boyata only has a 12 month deal so he'll probably go, along with Dimi, at the end of the season. I can see us in for a top CB next summer as well.

Might also have something to do with the fact we could get £15m for Nasty, as opposed to £15 for Boyata  Laughing Laughing
