Time to poach a rag?
So the rumour mill has turned to face the swamp, like the eye of Sauron sniffing out activity in Middle Earth (the dodgy bit, obviously) and it appears that out of favour Juan Mata is being touted for sale at £20m.

Now, before I get onto the serious business, if there is even a shred of truth about this rumour, I'm going to laugh until I puke at the prospect of the rags going so far off beam that they're prepared to keep the hugely over-rated Shrek and offload a player of Mata's calibre, especially when they're going to take a £17m loss into the bargain.
And once I've stopped laughing and cleaned the carpet, I'd be hoping that we put in a bid for him and offload Yaya into the process. Mata will work hard, he's good on the ball and he's got some serious skill. Yaya is an incredible player, but he's so bloody mercurial. Let him have his fat pay day, get shot of him, and bring in Mata. Plus, I bet he won't complain when he only gets a cake for his birthday.
Seriously, ex rag or not, he's got to be worth a punt.

I'd take him, but can you honestly see MP going after Mata and getting rid of Toure?....well i can't. To be honest, i can't even see him going after Mata, without getting rid of Toure.
We will, as has been the case since the end of last season, miss out on players we desperately need to improve our squad and help us retain the PL crown.

Mata? Nah, he's too inconsistent. On his day, great player, but can be fucking awful as well....and doesn't like to track back a la TLF.
It'd be getting rid of one lazy bastard for another.

Seems we tried for Gotze in the summer and failed.

I'd personally play him as an attacking midfielder, who links play up with the forwards (a la Silva)....so i wouldn't want him tracking back.
To be honest though blue, that's how i want Toure to play, but MP doesn't....so he probably wouldn't play Mata that way either .

Cabaye would be a better replacement for TLF. At least he works hard & we would have money left over
