UEFA seeding

Looking at the UEFA coefficients, we are down in 14th position and are seeded number 2. To get into the first pot, we have to have the equivalent of getting out of our group for 5 consecutive years. The only way we can make pot 1 next year is to win the whole thing.

When Utd, Arsenal and Chelsea were all top seeds, there would only be 5 teams left for us to play from pot 1. So, if those teams are Dortmund, Munich, Athletico, Madrid and Barca, then we are always going to be up against it to qualify top of the group.

Unless UEFA change the system, or we get much better, we'll be in the 2nd pot for a few more years yet and we'll keep on playing the same teams.

I thought it was being changed next season so that all league winners would automatically go in to pot 1

I'd heard that a while back, but you never know with UEFA. A few of the old guard complain and it could easily be status quo next season.

if they do change it, what happens to those clubs finishing 2nd, 3rd and 4th?

Seems like Pot 1 will be based on Country ranking. i.e. the champions of each league go in to Pot 1 and pots 2,3,4 will be as in the past based on their European ranking......But as you said that could and probably will change.
