Thursday Gossip
The boys are back in town. Well, Tinseltown anyway. Her Majesty's Press (Manchester Regulars) are out in Los Angeles for a weekend taste of Galaxy, but first they're on Carlos Tevez's case.
These lads cut to the chase, no trawling the internet for a few "facts" to cobble together. Here's the Mail's Ian Ladyman: "Carlos Tevez has been told to return to training ... but can expect to lose the captaincy and his place in Roberto Mancini’s team as the club close in on Sergio Aguero."
See? It's all there in the intro, so now a bit more detail: "Tevez’s proposed £40million switch to Corinthians finally collapsed when the Brazilian outfit failed to produce a banker’s guarantee that they had the money to conclude a deal for the City striker.
"The FA Cup holders had belatedly agreed to allow Corinthians to delay their first payment on the deal until next February, asking the Brazilians to pay £4.4m then and another £4.4m in June.
"Now Tevez once more finds himself in limbo and has been told he must return to City in a fortnight to train with the rest of Mancini’s squad.
"A meeting has been arranged today to iron out a deal for Argentina star Aguero, 23, whom City hope to sign in the next few days for about £30m — lower than the £38m release clause previously demanded by Atletico.
"City will continue to seek a buyer for Tevez, 27, but will move the asking price back towards their initial valuation of £50m if he is to be sold to a big European club. Insiders hope Inter Milan may yet be tempted to strike a deal."
There's an interesting, much fuller version at your newsagent in the old-school Mail, printed on recycled pulp and waste material (insert own joke here). Other newspapers are available, for now.
Websites without their own men in the field (ie most of them) have to make do with the regurgitated quotes circulating the web in ever-decreasing circles.

Call it the Neverending Story ...

Yahoo.com reports, along with a thousand others, that "City striker Carlos Tevez will respect the club even if he fails to secure a move away ... this summer, according to the player’s agent."
They quote Kia Joorabchian (for it is he): "I think Carlos is a very calm person. He's neither disappointed nor happy. He's very calm.
"We waited to see how the deal would be structured and he tried to keep out of it in terms of insisting on anything. Now he'll go on holiday after the Copa America and see what happens."
Mind you, if you're short of a tale you can usually rely on Harry, although our favourite other manager doesn't hang around while you take your time writing the story.
No sooner has Mr Redknapp noted what a terrific player Emmanuel Adebayor is than ... well, as metro.co.uk reports: "Tottenham will swoop for Roma striker Mirko Vucinic if they cannot thrash out a deal with Manchester City to sign Emmanuel Adebayor.
"City would rather sell Adebayor than loan him out again, and with the striker’s wage demands likely to scupper any deal anyway, Spurs have now turned their attentions to Montenegrin Vucinic."
Still, it's always a pleasure to squeeze 'Arry in for a WTMS guest appearance. Has he tipped us for the title yet?

Re: Thursday Gossip
I can't see how Tevez can do anything but respect his contract, City have done everything they posiibly could bar giving away him for free! If Tevez is going to be narked at anything it should be Corithians fo buggering up the deal, or Kia for stringing everyone along.....
