Bournemouth vs Man City - Live Thread
OK, so now we know what we have to do. Arsenal, LFC and Rags winning, Spuds losing....means a win can take us 2nd, 8 points off Chelsea with 13 games to go.
Lot's of press reports intimating that Kompany and Aguero won't be starting. I'd have both of them tonight.
The 3 up front have done really well, but against Bournemouth on their pitch, you could argue that Sergio in particular, would be perfect for tonight, and a chance to see him alongside Gabriel.
Who do you drop though? Sane, Jesus and Sterling all deserve to start on recent form....but if we accommodate Sergio, one of them has to be dropped. For me, it's one of Sane and Raheem. Tight call as both have been excellent. I'd possibly drop Raheem to the bench and stick with Sane, only because of his height as a possible option, as I can't separate them on form.
Willy should stay in net. Simple as. Does he go for a 3 at the back or stick with a 4 away from home?
I would be happy if we saw this:
Willy
Zaba, Stones, Otamendi, Kolorov
Fernandinho, Silva
Sane, KDB, Jesus
Aguero

Re: Bournemouth vs Man City - Live Thread
I'd love Sergio to play alongside Aguero
Seriously though, he could drop someone from the MF to make room for Aguero but there's no way he should be dropping any of the front three right now.
I'd probably go with 3 at the back, leaving out Otamendi. Can't see him dropping Yaya either.
It's a tough call indeed.

I'd be surprised if he went 3 at the back....I hope he does, as it gives us even more attacking options, but 3 points are now massive tonight. Does he be pragmatic, or just think "bugger it, all out attack and go for 3 at the back"?

We're winning at the moment with lots of pace up front and lots of pressing. I can see Bournemouth trying to play football as they always do so he may be pragmatic and go for four at the back. If a team is just lumping it up, he might go with 3.
Every game is massive now.

I can't see him dropping Yaya. For that's reason I think he'll go with 3 at the back.
Willy
Zabba, Otta, Kolorov
Ferdi, Yaya
Silva, KDB, Sane, Jesus
Augero

Not sure I would have Otamendi AND Kolorov together, alongside Zaba....absolutely no pace there whatsoever.

If 3 at the back, I'd go for Stones, Ota, Kolorov.

Let's hope we can put on another 'education' tonight. We get worked up in our 40', 50's....this 'geezer', says it as it is.

Pep doesn't seem to fancy kompany to play the ball out and prefers stones and kolarov.

Let me put this on record before the game starts....it's a good enough team to win.

Very attacking.
When Bournemouth have played well, they've scored within 15 mins. LFC was an isolated case, but when they've conceded early, they've folded.

I can see that bench starting against Huddersfield.

Re: Bournemouth vs Man City - Live Thread
I can see us trying to blitz them early on, like the previous few games. It does take its toll on us in the 2nd half though. That's why we need to get a god enough lead to coast a little in the 2nd half.

Looks like a fair line up to me.None of the front 3 or Willy deserved dropping Aguero will defo start in the CL & should be super hungry.Â
