Slap on the wrists???

Post by Topdawg on Sun Feb 26, 2017 6:50 pm

http://www.bbc.com/news/uk-wales-south-east-wales-39095656

Doctor sends away 5yo girl, with a history of life threatening asthma, because she was a few minutes late for her emergency appointment. The girls dies later that evening. Doctor gets slapped on the wrists by the GMC.

A telling part of the story...

Dr Rowe claimed she was with another patient when she turned them away.
But the health board checked computer records at the surgery which showed the doctor did not see any patients between 16:55 and 17:20 after a number of cancellations that day.

I've dealt with the GMC in the past and they are so concerned to protect the doctor, that they don't protect the patient. That's my opinion based on personal experience.

If the GMC had struck her off, then that would be the minimum as far as I'm concerned. Money doesn't bring your loved ones back.
