Wow, Martin has really produced an absolute belter today. Bang on the money with so many of his comments.

He's right about Neuer. Offer £40M-£50M, make it well known that you've made the offer and see what happens.

Fucking him off and replacing him with Paddy Roche's Chilean cousin was some hint

Llorente isn't a bad shout, but is he excelling at Swansea only to fail if he moves to City (remember Bony anyone?).

He's more likely to accept the role of squad player I expect at his age. Get rid of that bag of shite Nolito for starters and then think about Llorente.

I'd take Joe's 'poor distribution' but world class saves over Clownio any day of the week.

Joe was never given a chance to sort his poor distribution out...Peps mind was made up from day 1 over him. Unbelievable decision....and to be honest something I never expected from a man of Peps reputation.

TBF....I'm not sure I've ever read or heard Pep say "it's because of his distribution"....correct me if I'm wrong.

All I did hear was Pep saying "I told him to stay and fight for his place".....

Was it an attitude problem?

I'm not sticking up for Pep here, as I would rather have had Joe over Willy and Bravo, but this 'distribution' thing is how Pep wants to play, but I don't recall him calling out Joe over his.

Why did he bring Clownio in then?

Simple - because his distribution IS better than Joe's. My point was, I've never heard Pep call Joe out for his distribution - EVER. And if he was so poor at playing out from the back, why tell him to stay and fight for his place - which he did?

For me and just my opinion - Joe was pissed off at not being 1st choice, threw his toys out of the pram and was too concerned for his England place, so decided to leave. Reading comments from Torino fans, they say he's not that great a keeper; still flaps at crosses and lets goals in down to his left side - just like he did last season.

As I said - maybe there's more to it than simply 'distribution'.

I think there were several factors involved. Distribution was a red herring. Attitude and mr big shouty bollicks were probably bigger factors.

Yeah that's fair Andy but my point was Joe was never given a chance to improve.
Peps wanted a new keeper from day 1....unfortunately for us, the superb new keeper he brought in was utter shite.

Agree Den, but my point was that Joe WAS given a chance. Pep asked him to stay and fight for his place. If he stayed, maybe he could have improved that area of his game and Pep may have given him a chance in the Cup competitions - and Joe may have showed him he's better all round than Bravo. If Willy can do it, why not Joe?

To put it another way.....when we paid £42m for Sane and £17m for Nolito....it's like Sterling saying "ahh, fuck it, I'm off, I've got to play regularly".

There's always competition for places and rightly so.

I guess we'll only find out the 'truth' in 10 years time when one of them retires.

I'm happy to stick by Pep's decision for now. We're potentially going to be 2nd in league when the games even themselves out, we're potentially in the QF of the FA Cup against Boro after tonight and we're potentially in the QF of the CL.

Of course, it'd be great to be top, but some of those losses towards the end of last year and the beginning of this year, were not down to Bravo, they were down to a collective of poor defending from the defence and MF.

Guess we'll see where we are at the end of the season and in the summer, when there'll be some massive changes.

We have a brilliant team for next season and the next few years if we can only sort out the defending and the goalkeeping situation. Hopefully this will be addressed in the summer.
Regarding Joe, i agree with blue, he was given the option to stay and improve, he left so i can only assume that was his own choice.
