City v Huddersfield - Live Thread
Can see a strong team tonight, but got a feeling Bravo will start.
So for me:
Bravo
Sagna, Stones, Otamendi, Clichy
Fernandinho
Sterling, KDB, TLMLF, Sane
Aguero

Re: City v Huddersfield - Live Thread
Why would he save Silva for the weekend?
3 at the back and strongest team possible other than Clownio in goal.
Pep said every game is like a cup final, so he should treat this as a cup final.
Play your best team in every remaining game this season unless we're safe in the top 4 and can't win the league. Experiment and try stuff in May...

Re: City v Huddersfield - Live Thread
But you know he won't do that, so why say that???
That wouldn't be my preferred team, it's a team I'm guessing he'll go for. As for Silva, he's had a rest, yes, but if he plays, who doesn't - KDB? I'd be really surprised if he played a similar full strength team like he did against Monaco, hence why one or two more will play tonight, so someone has to drop out.
Again, I'd be surprised if he changed to a back 3 to start with, he hasn't done that in ages, so why now?

Because horses for courses (even though he doesn't believe in it). It's the team I'd go for knowing he wants to play Clownio.

I know he won't do it, but I'd like something a bit left field on the bench. No navas please. How about sancho or foden?

Re: City v Huddersfield - Live Thread
full strength to start tonight, no messing about, given we "should" win next game this is straight forward route to the semi's..
Pep was very clear about the owner watching closely and wanting to win things on his presser...

The FA cup is only 3 wins to the final. Tonight and Boro we should win and that's the semi. The league is probably too tough and the CL is tougher still.
We've just got to focus on the FA to start with.

Re: City v Huddersfield - Live Thread
I'd be happy with that at the back, but will he really change to 3 after not doing it for so long???
He seems to do that when we are in trouble or easily winning.....but rarely starts with a 3.
I think a 3 is perfect IF we play Sterling and Sane with Aguero/Jesus, but he just doesn't start that way.
Let's hope so tonight, which means he's going for it and can rest some if we are plenty ahead.

Re: City v Huddersfield - Live Thread
How did he shoehorn Kevin, David, Sane, Yaya, Jesus and Sterling into the team? Maybe by playing Fernandinho in defence but I thought he had played a 3-4-3 recently too. Maybe I'm mistaken.

4-3-3 with Alex Garcia starting. Left field!

Bravo
Zaba, Stones, Ota, Clichy
Fernandinho
Sterling, KDB, A Garcia, Sane
Aguero
TLMLF drops out. He would always rest some of the main players for tonight.

Yeah, you guessed that he'd leave Yaya out altogether...blueboy wrote:Guess I was right.....

He should have had Yaya on the bench unless he's got a niggle. Just in case.

It's fantastic that Alex gets a start. Not on the bench to watch the game or come on if we are 3-0 up, but a start!!!!!

I'm not perfect Dawg...but it's a simple TLMLF for Garcia and Zaba for Sagna......
As for the formation, it'll be a 4-1-4-1......like he's played recently.

Re: City v Huddersfield - Live Thread
No way.....stupid tactic. Why change a winning formula to one that didn't work when Sterling was on the left earlier n the season and last year????
Daft idea - only IMO.

Just in case some think, that I think "I'm always right".....just giving my opinion folks.
Maybe Pep will try it and it'll work, but it's not worked before....and Sane and Sterling have been immense in their natural roles - Sterling picked as a UEFA POTW for the Monaco game. Why change??

I was being sarcastic mate. He should be watching all city games and should know us a bit better than that.
At least he said 4-1-4-1 like you so he can't be that bad.

I'll be happy with a good performance.
Haven't checked their team yet. have they made many changes to the first team?

Re: City v Huddersfield - Live Thread
from the beeb...
Huddersfield boss David Wagner might have been hoping to see a few less-familiar names on the City teamsheet. That's because he has rested all his key players.
The Championship promotion-chasers have made nine changes from Saturday's 1-1 draw at Barnsley, reverting to a similar line-up to the one which held City in the original game.
Only experienced midfielder Dean Whitehead and German striker Collin Quaner remain.
