Sunderland vs City - LIVE

Post by Topdawg on Sun Mar 05, 2017 12:30 pm

First topic message reminder :

Every game is a must win game if we want to win the league/ensure top 4 and keep momentum for the cup competitions.

We've 13 league games to go with tough games against Chelsea, Liverpool, Arsenal and Utd. to come so every point and every goal matters.

Win today and we open up a 5 point gap to Arsenal and 6 points to Utd. We'll also get our GD level with Arsenal and 6 or 7 better than Utd. Right now, I'm only looking at top 4.

Let's get the win today and see what West Ham can do to Chelsea. They are good enough to get a point.

Just see it out,  rest a couple for Stoke now.  Silva has been brilliant again

a performance where we got the job done with the minimum of fuss. Still nervy at this passing out from the back. If we had some more accomplished defenders I think I could cope with it a bit better. We will need to up the anti against Chelsea, Arsenal & pool though. They are far better than Sunderland & they, to be fair, gave us some nervy moments.

The sliva goal seemed to be for Sterling being offside. When the ball was played from aguero across the box sterling was in an offside position he became active by turning the man & blocking his path so the ball went through to silva. Well that was my interpretation of it.

I just hope that Pep doesn't disregard the strengths of those tougher teams. We really need to be on our mettle against them.

Still think we're far better with KDB in the team behind Aguero. Fernandinho does far more than TLMLF, so for me, he should be dropped. He made one or two good interceptions, but that was about it. He still lumbers around the pitch for 75% of the time marking grass....and high energy teams will destroy us with him in there.
Silva was magnificent today. Great to see his work rate meant he ran more than any player today in the City side. Maybe TLMLF can look to replicate him!!
Great finish by Sane and what a ball.
It's was comfortable and again, playing out from the back, today, you could see the benefits of doing this, but agree, we'll need to be sharper against the better teams.

Sterling not up to his usual standard - missed Kev - he hasn't been scoring but he covers a lot of ground and is good on free kicks etc.  Silva - always in a class of his own.  Sane had a good second half - and we really controlled the match.  Always tough playing a relegation team - felt sorry for them and they played well in the first half.
