Monaco vs City - LIVE
Building up to the game.
Even though we've got a decent advantage from the 1st leg, it's only two clear goals and they are through.
I think we have to score and probably the earlier the better. They have to come on to us and we need to make a break count with a clinical goal. We can't afford 5 or 6 chances for a goal or we might be out of the game by then.
I can't see him not starting with Sane, Sterling, Aguero, Silva, KdB, Yaya, Kolarov, Big Willy. Probably Sagna at Rb and Clichy at LB with Stones or Otamendi partnering Kolarov at the back.

Could be Fernandinho and Yaya behind Silva and Sane, Aguero and Sterling.

Can't see Kompany playing for us again this season (unless catastrophic injuries or suspensions).
Not sure if he'll ever play for us again.

Best team for tonight! Thank god lazy bollocks isn't playing. We can't have is lumbering tonight as they'll be going for it from the whistle. Can't see them not scoring, so we MUST take any chances that come our way.

Re: Monaco vs City - LIVE
Just been on the phone to my lad, and we were discussing the Vinny situation.
I wonder if Pep has told him to train fully between now until the end of the season to prove his fitness, then be available for next season.
We all know he has come back from previous injuries far too soon and crocked himself time and time again.
It would be nice to think that a 100% fully fit Vinny would be available next season. There's no point in risking him in this campaign, because I hate that dread I have whenever I see him put in a challenge or stretch for the ball.
I have everything crossed that he will be our first choice in central defence alongside Stones next season. Now that would be some partnership.

Re: Monaco vs City - LIVE
That could be in bluey. It's also to show that he can stay fully fit for 3-4 months without breaking down. That will give everyone the confidence they need.
It's a really tough call now. If we think he's ok and don't buy that extra CB we desperately need we could be playing with Otamendi and Kolarov at CB again next season!
But if we buy an extra CB and Vinnie stays fit, then the kid won't get a look in.
I'd rather we bought 2 new CBs and worry about it next season.

As much as I love the man and hope that he gets fully fit again, recent history tells us we shouldn't gamble and be reliant on any single player.
Go out and buy quality cover and increase competition for places.

I was confident before, and I'm even more so now that Falcao isn't playing.
That was always the nightmare scenario for me, an ex-rag scoring a stoppage time winner to knock us out.
C'MON CITY.

Re: Monaco vs City - LIVE
We need at least 2 top defenders for next season. Laporte can apparently play CB or LB. We'll definitely get another CB. So we should end up with Stones, Kompany and 2 other CBs (hopefully Otamendi leaves) and I can see us keeping Kolarov as backup LB and CB.
Pep could take the risk and buy just one new CB and rely on Kompany and Kolarov as back up. Still too risky for me.

Re: Monaco vs City - LIVE
If we'd won 6-3 back in Manchester (and we should have scored late on), I'd be very confident. But we could so easily lose 2-0 or 3-1 so I'm worried.
