Think Navas has been very good.
Pep's got this spot on...and Bravo's distribution has been excellent...but again, we should be a few goals up.

Navas has been skinned 2or 3 times already but he put a peach of a cross in they fooled the defender who expected it to go at least a few yards closer to Aguero

Yeah right.....you know, it's OK to say you are wrong.
The stream I'm watching, the commentators at HT are saying Navas has done a great job and they were saying that Bravo's distribution is brilliant....and that Pep has his way, so who should question it?
I know several on here....

Both have been very good today Rich - regardless of what we think of them overall.
Sterling has been excellent.....Navas has done a great job as a wing back. Delph has been very, very efficient and scored a great goal.....no need for lazy bollocks anymore, as Delph is showing he has the touch - but he's quicker.
That's 100 goals this season.

Cant really argue with that, but Navas, Sterling & Delph have been top this game.

Not sure if you're at the game Rich...but if you see it again, Stones seems to step over it from 3 yards out....I'm not sure you can totally blame Bravo for that.

Thought he was excellent today, as was Navas and Sterling. Another game where we should have scored 5 or 6.

Re: City v Hull - Live Thread
I'd rather have Bravo or Willy starting attacks off like they do, and concede a goal through a keeping error (even though I think it wasn't totally his fault today), and we win, than Joe Hart who can't kick/pass for shit and we end up conceding throw in after throw in, as the majority of his kicks ended up in the crowd!
Pep got it spot on today....well done Navas as a wing back, thought he was very good. KDB gets a rest and Delph kept his place and was excellent. Sterling again, transformed under Pep...unlike the ridiculous left wing he had to play under MP and being told he had to NOT lose the ball, so play it inside.....where Pep has given him the freedom to take players on and make mistakes if he needs to.
Well done Pep.

Navas was better second half. But he was skinned easily early on and badly out of position a few times. His cross for the goal looked poor at first sight. Haven't seen a replay. Bravo had nothing to do except pass the. All and save one shot.

Silva's 300th game - and what a player he is. Never seen a better player in a City shirt. So aware and in control of the ball. Can't believe he's never been nominated for Player of the Year - grossly unjust.
Just to settle the argument - as much as I think Navas is mediocre - he had a really good game today in a position he's probably not totally comfortable with. He is a worker, always has been - just not extremely talented.

Re: City v Hull - Live Thread
So it was nothing to do with Stones stepover....is was simply a bad save from Bravo?
Still rather have Bravo in net than Hart, if he distributes and starts moves like he did today.
Let's say Hart was in net and actually saved it....what was the end result? 3-0?
But let's say Hart's distribution was slow or he did his usual and whacked the ball up field or into row z....what's to say we would have scored 3 today?
Under Pep, it starts from the back. Clearly, a Manager who has won 21 trophies in 7 years, doesn't know as much as some on here.....

Totally agree Wesndi....I think he's gash, but when a player has a good game for City, some who have absolutely slated him, just can't bring themselves to say he had a good game, as that goes against the Anti-Pep agenda that some have on here.

Re: City v Hull - Live Thread
Well I'm not anti-Pep nor was I anti Pellers but both seem to have fallen short at times with team selection. Pellers kept making the same choices and expected a different result and Pep just makes strange selections at times. However - both seemed to favour Navas - don't you think. They obviously rated his work ethic even though he could never score and his crosses were poor many times. Today however, Navas did well.
We'll have to wait for next season to see how the team shapes up - with Pep's new players (if he gets who he wants) and with a fit Gabriel and Gundogan. Hope Aguero stays.

Re: City v Hull - Live Thread
Have to say Navas, Sterling, Delph & Stones were the standouts for me. Delph gave me a bloody heart attack in the 1st minute excellent interception followed by a terrible crossfield pass setting up an attack for Hull.
Navas had a couple of nervy moments defending but came through them ok & did what he had to do. has also been practicing crossing by the looks, put in some useful balls throughout the game, & mixed them up a bit some low some long to the back & some that the strikers just seem to run onto too quick as they were just behind them in good areas though.
Sterling my MOM ran them ragged was at the heart of everything good had able support from Navas which helped create pockets of space for him to exploit.
Bravo i'm sorry is just plain gash. I am with Dawg on this and always will be. A goalkeeper is there to save shots, stop crosses clear lines etc his primary objective. If in the process he aids an attack all well & good.
He was totally at fault with the goal Stones didn't step over it it went to the side of him & caught the slightest deflection through his legs. Bravo could see it clear enough went the right way & palmed it in of his left hand, Total bullshit keeping.
Great he's good with his feet... Then play him at bloody full back or sweeper & have a proper keeper between the sticks. Up until now we have throughout History always managed to attack & score without having to rely on a keeper passing the ball out.
Fair enough today his pass completion rate must have been at least 95% as I didn't see him get closed down or threatened more than once or twice. All I can say on the matter is next season we have got to get a keeper who is primarily a good keeper shot stopper , Cross handler, commander of his own box, and if so important lastly someone who can play out from the back in that order.

Re: City v Hull - Live Thread
For me, and it's all about opinions, Navas was a little above average today. He made a couple of basic errors. If Zabba had made them at RB, we'd be saying he isn't the force he once was. If Sagna had made those errors, we'd be saying he was gash.
His cross for the goal, I'll need to see it on MotD tonight to see if it was badly overhit or a good cross.
How many goals today came directly from Bravo's passing out? Maybe we can look at how many goals we score as a direct result of good passing from the keeper and how many goals are conceded by a keeper being unable to save a shot.

Having watched the goals again, Bravo was a shade unlucky as he may have been unsighted as the ball went by him. Navas' cross wasn't as bad as I had first thought, but it stil should have been better. And what a miss by Sane and also by one of theirs in the first half.
