Enes Unal won't be playing for City next season

Looks like he hasn't played enough games to qualify for a work permit.

Are we still in the European Union? if so the games in Holland would surely qualify him wouldn't they?

He has to play 60% of his national team games

I thought under age players were exempt in terms that as they are coming through the ranks they do not have to play as many games for the national sides???

I'm not sure how it all works. The higher the FIFA ranking, the fewer games they need to play. I don't think work permits are based on age.

I read on City Watch that Lazio were preparing an offer to Unal.If that is true how can they give him a contract? or is it a British immigration ruling as opposed to a uefa ruling? Just went on to city watch website for an update, They say Bayern Munich & Dortmund have entered the race to sign him, & City could command a fee as much as 10 million Euros 8.4 million pounds. The report states Guardiola is not keen on selling & will take Unal on the American Tour this summer, If he doesn't impress then more than likely another season loan would be in the offering rather than a sale.

The rules may be different in other countries regarding work permits. Portugal offers passposrys to Brazilians so that is one way into Europe for them. He'll go on tour but will either be sold for a tidy profit or, more likely, go on loan for another year so that he can get his quota of international games up.
