The dippers muscle in on the deal

Great player, but not sure he's worth £60 mil, may have dodged a bullet there.

Lots of Celtic fans saying he wasn't as good as Denayer was when they played together. £60M is an awful lot for a defender.

Would be nice to see them breaking records on players for a change especially considering their wage bill throws them off the moral high ground Twisted Evil

No surprise really as Southampton have become the dippers feeder club over the past few seasons

Lallana, Lovren, Mane, Clyne, Crouch, Lambert, Jones

Definitely overpriced and shows how desperate the dippers are for a 'marquee' signing. What pisses me off is that if it was the other way round the press would all be screaming about how vulgar we are for chucking ridiculous money at an average player. Remember the ridicule we got for the Stones fee? And yet this deal apparently shows what a massive club the dippers are, not how desperate.
It looks as if the Klopp wankfest has at least another season to run.

But you just know if they have a poor season, finishing 5th or 6th and getting knocked out of the CL at the group stage, it'll just be because they have a small squad and here's lots of pressure etc.

Soton have officially reported LFC over an illegal approach to Van Dyke.

good. I think Liverpool will end up paying £60M rather quickly rather than risk a future transfer ban.

It would be even funnier if Southampton refuse to sell him to the dippers, refuse to withdraw the complaint and Liverpool receive a transfer ban as well as fail to get top 4 next season and get knocked out in the group stages of the CL.

After banging on for years about utd city and chelsea spending so much money, they've jumping around about this transfer. £60M for a defender and they aren't criticising themselves. hypocritical dipper bastards

A new twist in the tale, sounds like Southampton are not happy at all:

One minute they're blaming lack of titles on not being able to compete with our unfair spending power, then offering a world record fee for a defender and claiming to still be a massive relevant club.
What's it to be?
Ridiculous little club living off the past imo.

I wonder how many of their fans were even alive the last time they won the league.

They're the mighty LFC...and you have to tread carefully around them because something happened a long time ago....
