Fucking shitty site. Deleted my long, very informative post. Simply said, the new tv deal obliterates FFP for top clubs that don't after relegation. CL the deal kicks it even further into touch.

I don't think that was the case Oz. It was a part suspended fine and we got some money back for not transgressing again for 2 seasons

my bad then dawg. that is what I saw reported. I read it was to be legally challenged & they ( uefa had to back down & ratify the initial concept of FFP as in it"s current state at that given time they would not have won the court challenge. They then had to eat humble pie & return the imposed fines minus the 1st year as that had already passed.

Isn't FFP calculated over a 3 year period i.e. you can overspend by more than 23M one year is its made up for on the other 2 years by increased revenue?

Yes. We got fined with some returned if we corrected ourselves over the next two years. We did, and they paid the suspended part of the fine back

So does that men that this season starts as a new 3 year cycle if we over spend this year? I find it hard to belive that the club has not worked this out to the last penny & have accounted for the worst case I.e we have a bad CL run etc & what impact it would have on TV revenue.

I'd guess it's a 3 yr rolling cycle. The new tv deal killed FFP in this country for a year. Now transfer prices have rocketed, that may change. But, with all the new sponsorship and commercial deals out there, it's pretty much a busted flush.

Clubs are getting an extra £50M a year. The new CL to deal was worth an extra £10-£20M a year. Most CL teams are now getting at least £70M a season more than two years ago. If they've also git a new kit deal, they're getting over £100M more than two years ago.

City made £12m and £32m 2014/15 and 2015/16. Last seasons profit increased massively. With the new TV deal we can afford a loss close to €100m, but with the massive increase in the new TV deal and the new sponsors, we can spend around £300m this summer and still be within FFP rules....

Amortisation works out at £100M a year. This is without even considering the outgoing sales which should bring us in at least £50M if Itchy's sale goes though.

That's why buying all these kids makes good business sense if you sell them on. Itchy, Unal and Mooy will book us over £40M profit in the accounts. You could spend a cool £200M based just on that alone.
