3 points...we move on....but we need to be better than that against Everton.

Everton won't park the bus but they also won't give us any space so we need to be 5x better than that
2 mistakes by them. Decent 3 points away from home I'm sure a few will lose points there

Yep Walker just what we needed. Had to be patient.
I opened a betfair account and a city win was my bet to get the free cash, really thought I'd jinxed it for a minute , lol

True there will be more scares defensively against Everton, but I think we will also have more opportunities in attack. I'm thinking a 3-1 win.

just be happy with 3 points after that display today....some players need to pull their finger out.
agree, thought Walker was very good today, but some of our big players need to improve significantly next week.
3 points whether we won 6-0 or 2-0...so we move on....but not THE big statement I was expecting.

Personally I was expecting Brighton to go one up in the first half on a set piece then listen for 70mins on social media about its Bravo MII before the score ended 2-1, but considering the Champions lost 3-2 at home to Burnley, Liverpool drew 3-3 with Watford & Arsenal barely scraped a win at home I thought we did alright

Re: BHA v Man City - Live Thread
Still early days but have to admit I was getting a bit edgy. I really hope that Oliver hasn't set the standard of refereeing already. WTF was the Gabriel booking all about & then Silva gets hacked from behind . Which is more dangerous??????
Where was the penalty in the second half KDB shot from distance Dunk had his hand out down by his side that is a penalty any day of the week FFS he can book Gabby For handball & disallow the goal even though the handball was totally accidental yet the Dunk one was blatant & no action taken.
Agree walker was good. Ferna, Silva & KDB's passing at times was well below average. The one time the passes were perfect weight Aguero scores. Build up very slow but it is still difficult to find space with all 11 behind the ball in a crowded 18 yd box. Kompany made a few slip ups which fortunately went unpunished... overall a pleasing result but must do a lot better.
Oh & TMG last season Everton parked the bus scored 1 goal & had 3 shots on goal all game 2 of which were in the last 5 mins. So Everton do park the bus away from home.....

Agree SB they did bang on about Ederson being another Bravo, but the error he made was because Otamendi jumped in front of him & he couldn't go through him... Would probably have been better staying on his line though.

Re: BHA v Man City - Live Thread
I think we have to also bear in mind that we are bedding in a lot of new players all at once. On Tuesday we might get to see what the plan B team looks like. At first I thought the extra friendly was a bit pointless, but maybe it will be a chance for Pep to look at other options.

Re: BHA v Man City - Live Thread
Not sure it was the new players...KDB, Silva, Aguero, Fernandinho, Jesus were all very average...especially Silva and Fernandinho.
Mendy will be interesting.
Actually, for all of my complaining about him, it was a game that TLMLF was perfect for. Not sure we needed 3 CB's for the whole 90 mins. Something Pep needs to look at. Great when we need to break quickly, but not needed when we pretty much have 80% of the possession and need to break a team down.
You saw Giroud last night. They brought on something different and scored x2 in a matter of minutes.
Thought we were very predictable for most of the game and got lucky.
As for the Gabriel handball...never a yellow, but definitely no goal. Oliver was a disgrace to give a yellow card, only, because he didn't give a yellow for the challenge on Silva minutes later. I can see why he gave the yellow for Jesus...he did use his arm to knock it in....but to then allow the tackle from behind was shite.
Anyway, as said, 3 points, we move on, but some players need to seriously raise their game next week.
Fernandinho looks like he's hit a brick wall, just hoping the same hasn't happened to Merlin. He's looked way off the pace in preseason and today, apart from that pass, was very ponderous on the ball.
Anyway, 3 hours sleep before my flight in the morning, so enjoy blues and let's hope the Spuds and Rags get a battering!!
Bring on the Sierra Nevada mountains!!

Agree about Fernandinho he's the wrong side of 30, but this was a pretty poor showing especially in the 1st half. Gundogan cant come back soon enough. It was Silva's perfect pass that lead to the goal so I'm giving him a break. Having Mendy in the side will make a huge difference IMHO, just imagine him and Walker bombing down both flanks & putting crosses in.

Great read as normal from the Daisy Cutter.
You would have thought better of Frank, but he did look a bit uncomfortable with this chat. but Stevie G was full on "BT against us". I like how Mendy doesn't really give a shit and neither do the club. BT's agenda against us is just awful.

The best way to answer them is to keep winning & sticking two fingers up at them. If we spend billions? who cares if we win the trophies we are after on a regular basis.. The prize will justify the cost.
