City v Liverpool - Live Thread

Post by blueboy on Sat Sep 09, 2017 9:50 am

First topic message reminder :

Massive game today. Think LFC have looked pretty devastating when they can get behind the back of teams, just like they did against Arsenal, albeit, Arsenal were garbage.

Mane and Salah will either need to be pushed back into their own half, or we have to give them no space wide and behind us. Watching the video with Phil Neville, he actually made a good point about our LB position and playing Danilo there, as he's right footed. When they cut inside, like they like to do, it'll be on to his right foot...so it may force them to go wider where they don't want to be.

Either way, Vinny being out, AGAIN, for a big match, will be a big miss.

Will Pep play Sergio and Jesus? Sergio has scored against LFC is his last 5 matches. Or, will he fill the MF and push them back, as LFC prefer to go inside and through the middle?

One things for sure, we MUST take any chances that come our way.

He does have some good games, just not enough to fill me with confidence in the long run..

Other than being skinned by Salah and bringing him down, and playing Mane onside for kung-fu-academy run he didn't have too much to do himself. he was exposed by Mendy playing very advanced, which was always the danger with Liverpools quick counter threat.
so 30 posts further on you've come to what I said  Surprised))

Deceptive site ahead
Attackers on dsf4t5jfds34j.com may trick you into doing something dangerous like installing software or revealing your personal information (for example, passwords, phone numbers or credit cards).

This is what I've tried to post for the past 5 minutes. Had to edit what it said, as the post stalled and said it was too long.

0:50 ball played down line. Ota not there. Stones sliced clearance
5:04 Ota misses clearance and brings down Salah on edge of box. Mendy not in sight but Ota fluffs clearance causing chance
13:00 Henry says Ota shouldn't have pushed up earlier when Mendy went after the ball. Neville chimes in as well
13:30 Ota mistake with bad pass. Stones saves Ota's biffa
14:22 Ota plays Salah onside. Ends up with decent opportunity for dippers
21:00 Ota skinned by Salah. Great chance, poor cross.
27:00 Ota sliding in after Ferna brings down Mane. Well out of control and lucky foul already given.
30:00 Ota plays Salah onside. Mendy didn't help.
36:12 Ota plays Mane onside for sending off.

After that. pretty much plain sailing.

Ok, I've only highlighted errors and any player can make errors. Getting skinned by Salah or Mane is hardly Ota's fault as he simply isn't quick enough. So he hangs deep a few times playing someone else onside or steps up leaving another defender in the middle playing Ota's man onside.

Ota's confidence has taken a pounding. He's so scared of getting skinned that he makes other mistakes.

I'd have been happy with him playing as a CB pairing with fast full backs to help out. In this system, he's a liability and will be targeted by every team that we play in the PL and CL.

But we didn't concede a goal against LFC and won 5-0

We conceded 1 against Bournemouth that no-one could have stopped

We conceded 1 against EFC that was Fernandinho's fault

And none against BHA

Hate to see the reaction if get beat 3-0 and Otamendi plays.  Razz Razz Razz

I can't be arsed to look back at what was being said last season as we strolled our first ten games.

I was quite cautious, looking at who we'd played and how good those teams were.

This season, we've got so much of the ball that some of the average teams are going to struggle to get near our box at times.

Look at where the teams are in the league after 4 games.

Bournemouth 2nd bottom as it stands with 0 points.
Everton 16th and have been dismantled by Spuds and Chelsea.
Brighton 14th with 4 points.

We've only played one decent team in Liverpool and they were dangerous, mainly down our left.

Dawg the rundown of Otamendi especially the 27 min one . Did you see that on the slow motion replay I had to laugh Ferna brings him down as otamendi has done his usual & gone to ground sliding in his food goes straight into mane's Nuts...
