City v Liverpool - Live Thread
First topic message reminder :
Massive game today. Think LFC have looked pretty devastating when they can get behind the back of teams, just like they did against Arsenal, albeit, Arsenal were garbage.
Mane and Salah will either need to be pushed back into their own half, or we have to give them no space wide and behind us. Watching the video with Phil Neville, he actually made a good point about our LB position and playing Danilo there, as he's right footed. When they cut inside, like they like to do, it'll be on to his right foot...so it may force them to go wider where they don't want to be.
Either way, Vinny being out, AGAIN, for a big match, will be a big miss.
Will Pep play Sergio and Jesus? Sergio has scored against LFC is his last 5 matches. Or, will he fill the MF and push them back, as LFC prefer to go inside and through the middle?
One things for sure, we MUST take any chances that come our way.

Gary Neville "It's the back 3's fault".....fuck off you ugly munter!
Ederson could only go for it with his head you fucking idiot.....Mane had a choice!

taking our blue specs off for a second, otamendi's shoddy offisde plays caused ederson to be left in that position.

There is absolutely no way we can play three at the back with otmendi. he just isn't fast enough.
We simply have to buy someone in January as everyone in England and Europe has seen what happened against Everton and now Liverpool.

I would do what ratboy says, drop back to a 4 and replace Ota with Silva or Gundogan

Keeping blue tinted glasses on.....get Otamendi off as he's a fucking liability. And 10 v 10 doesn't fill me with hope, even 2-0 up. More so, we could well do without another defender out for a 2nd yellow!
Get Mangala on, or go to a back 4 with Danilo next to Stones.
Must admit, Mendy needs to learn how to defend....fuck me, not another Kolorov - please!!

On first viewing, I thought chest too and yellow. But the foot was very high and he kicked him in the face late.
ref had a good view so red is right.

What a difference some confidence brings. I think we are just shit scared sometimes, when we play flowing football we are almost unplayable.

Re: City v Liverpool - Live Thread
To be fair most pundits thought it was harsh and a yellow at worst (or best as the illiterate rat boy said), most including Jamie Carracher admitted after watching it again that it was a dangerous challenge. Carracher said that the "eyes on the ball" excuse didn't wash anymore when you make a challenge for the ball with studs up that nearly takes a guy's face off.
Neville however, refuses to accept that his initital opinion was wrong and continued to say the ref got it wrong and it was a yellow at worse.
Otamendi is a nightmare and is getting ripped open and caught out every time , he has to go

I would have given Foden his chance at 3-0 though. If kids need a chance give it when it doesn't matter. Good goal from Sane though.

To be fair City were o the front foot and a goal up when the red card happened but much will be made about that changing the game
