Harry Kane......
just a question or three:
1. Would he fit into our style of play?
2. Would he be an able replacement for Sergio in 18 months?
3. Would you be happy if we went in for him?
No doubting how bloody good his finishing is. Today, he was brilliant..again.

Re: Harry Kane......
It would take him really wanting to come to us and £200M

Re: Harry Kane......
I answered the question that really matters. It doesn't matter if we want him or if he fits into our system etc. it matters if he wants to come and his much we pay. That's it.

Re: Harry Kane......
he is a quality striker but seems to go missing on international duty. Is that because of the coach & style of play or is it rabbits in headlights on the big stage?
Would I want him. I don't know? he didn't look too good against us. Spurs would want a kings ransom for him and I am not convinced he is worth it.

Re: Harry Kane......
But it does. It's like asking...."would you like Ronaldo at City?"....for me, absolutely no fucking chance.Topdawg wrote:I answered the question that really matters. It doesn't matter if we want him or if he fits into our system etc. it matters if he wants to come and his much we pay. That's it.
We all know as he's English, it would probably be a British record. Not sure about £200m....but close to £120-140m. If we got £100m for Sergio, would he be suited to our team for that money?
I'm not sure he's a Pep player....but just asking what others think.

Re: Harry Kane......
If Sergio goes we have Sanchez to come in not sure we really need to break the bank for another attacking forward. After another CB our next priority should be a DM.

Not for me thanks. I don't care for him. I prefer Eriksson. I remember someone asking would we sign Rooney - at one time - feel the same way about Kane.

Goals in a calendar year? WTF is that all about?
All records are season to season?

Re: Harry Kane......
Good player but not worth the Neymar style fee it would cost. If we are losing Sergio because he doesn't track back, no point getting Kane, he is the ultimate old school centre forward

Re: Harry Kane......
“Goals in a calendar year? WTF is that all about?” agree, for this season it’s 18 compared with Sterling’s 12. A six goal difference for a player that’s pretty much every game v someone who’s rotated & not even an out & out striker.

Re: Harry Kane......
I have to agree with a United fan on Twitter....
"since when has the season started in Jan and ended in Dec? Also, when have these records to be broken been all about the PL - as Dixie Dean scored plenty more for Everton over a 12 month calendar than Harry Kane? It seems that these days, the media are always trying to over-hype an achievement to give them something interesting to write about, rather than being objective"

I did wonder why no one mentions Clive Allen’s 49 goals in a season

1. No

I don't think he'd last 5 minutes under Pep he's to lazy and full if his own self importance in fact a perfect fit for spuds or the rags

Re: Harry Kane......
No from me too. He can score hat tricks against poor teams but where is he when playing the big teams like Chelsea & City?
I can't forget how shit he was at the last World Cup & the most pathetic free kick ever against Iceland near the end of the match which almost hit the corner flag
He certainly is a one man team at Spuds though. Let's hope he doesn't get injured

I think I said he wouldn't suit Pep's style of player....but to call him shit, is a little harsh IMO.TMG wrote:No from me too. He can score hat tricks against poor teams but where is he when playing the big teams like Chelsea & City?

He's 24....for a striker, that's pretty bloody young considering how many goals he's got.
As for who he's scored against so far:
2 against EFC
2 against WHU
2 against Huddersfield
2 against LFC
2 against Stoke
3 against Burnley
3 against Soton
He's scored against other teams as well, I just chose those where he scored 2 or more. Name me a City player that has scored more against these PL teams than he has. I didn't mention the CL goals.
I'm not saying he's a player we should buy....but come on people, there's no doubting how clinical he is. His record proves that, above Sergio and Jesus right now....he's not shite as some have claimed.

Re: Harry Kane......
Most of the teams you listed there Blue played with an 11 man defence against us yet were far more open against spuddies, Kane got /gets far more freedom than our strikers do. I don't think he is shit I just think until he proves himself in the games against top opposition I will personally have my doubts about him.

Re: Harry Kane......
I didn't say he was shit He is a top striker obviously, the amount of goals speaks for itself.
He was however shit for England in the WC & most of those teams where he has scored 2 or more are not big teams
& some are or were in poor form when the Spuds played them.
At the end of Jan they have 4 matches - The scum, LPoo Arsenal & Juventus
See how many hat tricks he scores in those games

But that didn't answer my question Tony. How many did Aguero or Jesus score against those teams?TMG wrote:I didn't se he was shit He is a top striker obviously, the amount of goals speaks for itself.

I've no doubt he may not score 2 or 3 goals against the top 4 teams....but let's not forget where Sergio was when he signed for us....or even Jesus. Kane is a proven scorer....more proven than either of those 2 City players I mentioned....and if Pep is proven to make players better....what could he do with Harry Kane?
Maybe it's a nonsensical argument, as I said I'm not sure Pep would go for him...but we have to admit, Aguero won't be around after the end of this summer, at a push, 2018/19 summer....so who is going to come in and replace him to offer other options?

Re: Harry Kane......
I can see Aguero staying for a season and a half. By then, Sanchez may be with us and he could stay another season as top man (with Jesus). By then, maybe Diaz or another kid has staked a claim.
Would I take Kane if we could get him? Of course I would. His goal record is great and his longest goal drought is always in August when he just doesn't score. But that's only 3 or 4 games max. It would also weaken Spurs massively and they'd take years to recover.
But my initial observations stands true. Would he want to come to City so desperately that he'd leave Spurs and would we be willing to pay £200M for him as that is how much he'd cost us.
Honestly, I could only really see him going to Spain as he'd be sure to win leagues, champions leagues, maybe the ballon d'or and it wouldn't be against his beloved Spurs.
