Would anyone go David Luiz?
He was brilliant last season, good on the ball, quick.
Plenty of Brazilians in our squad.
£30m?? If we're going to pay £25m for Jonny Evans at 31....I'd take Luiz every day of the week.

No he is past his sell by date
Maguire from Leicester would be better & and Im not saying that coz he has the same surname as me
Still would prefer Bonucci though

Would rather go for Iñigo Martínez. He's cheap, wont mind being a 3rd choice bech warmer & is young enough to be moulded by Pep.

Maguire is so overrated. He's just a big lump.
I'd have Bonucci, but just can't see him leaving Italy.
See Pep wants a war chest - £50m ( war chest???)....he ain't gonna get 2 players for that. Umtiti's release clause is £50m!

Umtiti is out with hamstring anyways...?
would rather get Inigo martinez from what I've read on him over the other options available. less of a gamble for the moneys..
Sanchez and Martinez should see us through to the summer

It was more about the "war chest" comment...and linking us with Umtiti who would cost £50m alone.

Re: Would anyone go David Luiz?
OK past his sell by date is a bit strong but he's not played for months he is currently injured and he isn't good enough to get in Contes side this year. £30 million You're having a laugh Chelsea would rip our arm off for that.
Cant see him wanting to be 3/4th choice with us either
I dont think Maguire is overrated either. Certainly a very bright prospect for England. I can see him being a future England captain alongside Stones

I don't rate Maguire much on the ball, and ultimately thats what Pep is looking for.

England captain alongside Stones? So you'd have Maguire as England Captain over John Stones?TMG wrote:OK past his sell by date is a bit strong but he's not played for months he is currently injured and he isn't good enough to get in Contes side this year. £30 million You're having a laugh Chelsea would rip our arm off for that.

The rumours over Martinez are, that he has buyout clause of £30m....and City may offer £25m for Sanchez, but AFC will want £35m....there goes our "war chest"..

Looks like you are getting a bit desperate blue.... anyone who thinks sideshow bob is an improvement really are kidding thermselves. There must be a reason why Chelsea cant wait to get rid, Do we really need a cheating git like him to taint the name of Manchester City???? Sorry but this reeks of desperation.

Desperation? Desperation is wanting an ex rag who's always crocked.
Think Luiz asked for a move and Conte is refusing to sell him.
Just explain to me why he's a cheating git?

Re: Would anyone go David Luiz?
watched the item with luiz in the over 30's. It is someones opinion. I wouldn't have him near the team I will go with GNevs assessment that maybe he is good on fifa. To be fair they argued 3 places which were totally inconclusive, Keeper central defender, & striker. says it all really.

Re: Would anyone go David Luiz?
He is a cheating git for 2 reasons F.A Cup semi final. Was forever pulling agueros shirt blindside of ref 2 studs up challenges and hauled Kompany to the ground with the aid of John Terry. There is being aggressive & there is blatant cheating that's where it stands in my book. The league game last season Aguero again clean through Luiz not looking at the ball, clearly takes the player out. he knew what he was doing & he got away with. Both times he brought out the worst in Aguero which in one instance caused a sending off.
If that is the style of Professional football you advocate then fair play to you, that to me is the desperation that says win at all costs no matter how. JFE is not a player I would want either but if backed into a corner over one or the other, I certainly wouldn't be in the luiz camp.

Re: Would anyone go David Luiz?
Let me get this right....he's a cheating git for pulling a players shirt on the blindside and for bringing down Aguero when he would have been clean through? (I'm assuming you're referring to the one where Aguero retaliated later and got sent off for a thigh high tackle - and it was Luiz's fault for bringing out the worst in Aguero??????? )
If that's the case:
1. Every defender is a cheating git as they all do it - pull shirts.
2. Vincent Kompany is definitely a cheating git then. How could he possibly have gotten the ball without taking out Vardy first? Pre-meditated.

Re: Would anyone go David Luiz?
Walker is a cheating git for that push on our Raheem when he was going to score. We didn't;t get the penalty, the red card or the 3 points a they went on to equalise in a game that they weren't close to being in.

Re: Would anyone go David Luiz?
I just don't think Luiz is any good as a centre half.. (not in a back 4 anyways).
his strength is playing in a back 3/5 in the middle. something we are very unlikely to do again this season.
I agree with Oz.. though it's not specifically his cheating ways (yes all players do cheat here and there for the advantage etc.. etc..) it's his snide character I don't like.
The reason Chelski will be trying to offload him is they don't need his personality around the dressing room. why would we want to bring that to ours?

Re: Would anyone go David Luiz?
But he's asked for a transfer and Conte has said no....
Why would you want to keep such a 'trouble-maker' at your club, as you say, you'd just get rid.
Look, I don't think for one minute we'll go for Luiz...the post was a simple question, that has now turned into a whole debate on Luiz and cheating!

Not with herpes, it isn't. That shit is harder to get rid of than rusty radiator water in a pale carpet. Trust me, I know, I've spent two years trying to do the latter after a plumber made a complete mess of trying to flush out the ancient and largely neglected central heating system I inherited when I moved house.Moonchester wrote:awwww., I thought sharing was caring... :p

Re: Would anyone go David Luiz?
Yes you could say that about Kompany & I have never defended him for the taking out of Vardy But that does not make it any different in my eyes to the way I view Luiz. I have seen Luiz numerous times commit these sort of fouls It is cheating. You can defend him all you like blue but I personally hate these sort of players & Luiz tends do have this in his locker more than a 1 off. I detest him like I detested Skyrtl and anyone who is a serial offender. It is not the way I was taught to play football. In my day you went in hard & fair no shirt pulling body checking or deliberate intimidation.
I repeat luiz is a downright cheat I despise him hence why I would not want him donning a city shirt. I have principles & that is one play the game hard & fair or not at all. Winning is not the be all and end all win at any cost, I naturally love winning but recognize fair play.

No. We've got a happy squad, they all seem to get on. Throw Luiz in there and you've got a bum note in the symphony. There's no love lost between him and Sergio, that could lead to cliques forming. Don't take the risk.
Don't think there's any need to ridicule Oz's opinion in other posts either (Sessegnon, Carroll...).
