Basle vs City

Post by Topdawg on Mon Feb 12, 2018 8:16 am

Time to move onto the next game. Must win game.

Can't underestimate Basle or anyone at this stage of the competition.

Looks like Sané will travel with the boys, though would he be fit enough to start? Despite how well Bernanrdo has been playing, I'd rather have Sterling on the right and give Sané a go from the start. The only worry would be that he aggravates his injury and cannot play against the Arse at Wembley.

If we can get away from Switzerland with a 1-0 or 2-1, that would be nice.

Ederson
Walker, Stones, Otamendi, Zinky
Fernandinho
Kev, Dave
Sterling, Aguero, Sané

absolutely no way do we risk Sane if he's not fully fit..
I would rather start with Diaz and Sterling on the wide positions, and Bernard in the central alongside KDB if Silva is not fit yet

No way Pep is going to not play Bernardo on the right if he plays. No way will Pep start Diaz above Bernardo.

I'd prefer Bernardo having a shot at the Dave role, but that will always go to Gundogan if Dave is absent.

We should have enough to contain Basle without risking Leroy or Little Dave.
Personally I would rather they were kept wrapped up for the Arse game. That would be a massive boost for us to start them at Wembley, and it would certainly demoralise Arse too seeing them on the pitch at kick off.

I'd have the pair of them on the bench and maybe bring them on for the last 15-20 for a run out.

Do the same against Wigan in the cup to help them be ready to start against Arsenal in the final.

I don't think we should stress too much over this game.  Keep the result small (whichever way) and we'll have players back for the second leg to get us through.

Good news. If they are properly fit enough, start them against Basle.

As always, try and get the tie put to bed early if we can.

Its another factor that I like about pep, hes always fair with the players. When Yaya showed some good form he was offered a years extension, but when he didn't perform Pep dropped him & we've not seen him since. I think even if Kevin went through a long enough period of poor form he would eventually be benched, he really dosent play favorites.

Why do the press write utter shite headlines?

See his interview...he never said that! Wankers.
