Within a few years we were down and then up and up again.
City will never be the same again. We eat at a different table now.

And nothing's pleased me more than to see City where they are now Dawg.
Those 2 league games were the games I'd dreamed about seeing....thankfully I saw the one at Gigg (as it was on a Friday night 1-1), as I'll never get see them again.

Pfft! Some City fan you are, Shaken!
I used to watch Oldham Athletic with a mate when I was at school and as a result I've always had a bit of a soft spot for them. I was there when they beat Sheffield Wednesday with the last kick of the ball on that fateful day they were promoted to the first division (in the away end with all the Wednesday fans, which was fun...) and I even followed them all the way to Wembley to watch them get beaten by a fluke goal against the run of play. But I still wouldn't want them to beat us in a game.
I was there at Boundary Park in that pre-season friendly in 2012 and I certainly didn't celebrate Oldham's late winner, made all the more painful because their manager at the time was a certain Paul Dickov. I just shook my head and laughed as I felt the Cityitis flooding back, washing away the euphoria of winning the league just a few months earlier...

Was that the game when it was pissing it down like crazy? My wife wouldn't let me take the kids as it was so bad.leopold wrote:Pfft! Some City fan you are, Shaken!

Yeah, the rain was torrential. It was pouring off the roof of the stand we were in and the old stand on Sheepfoot Lane looked like it was leaking through the roof and drenching the poor buggers under it.

Once i got a bit older he stopped taking me to Maine Rd and I started going to Gigg with my mates....as noone else supposed City.
Once City they moved to the COMS I started going again, as work colleages went.
Tbh I support both teams, but I'd always want Bury to beat city.lol

I'm the same with Brighton loved them to death but when they played City it was City to win every time but everyone else it was always the Albion. I just hope they can get another season in the premier before their pending relegation happens.

When I lived in High Lane...used to mix-march between City and County. Went on that great League Cup run which ended with us at Boro away, where they lost in the semi-final.
Super Kevin Francis and all that. Must admit, had a great time following them for a year and City away that season was mental!

Being a Cheshire boy I went to Gresty Road with my mates to see Crewe back in the day when they played on Friday nights. Never really supported them though, always been city for me, I just went for the crack. We used to nick all the bog rolls from the train to throw over the opposition keeper.
Oh I was such a hooligan
