Think I called it...some thought it was a dead rubber.

That was nothing short of fucking embarrassing.

Never, do I want to see that lazy cnut in a City shirt again.

What happened to Bernardo in the 2nd half, fucking non-existent.

Laporte and Stones as a pair....fucking useless. If that's the future, we're fucked.

Danilo? What's he all about?

Zinchenko needs a kick in the bollocks, he clearly feels they've gotten too big. Played passes tonight thinking he was some world class player...and they didn't come off. Back on the bench for a while.

Jesus...difficult to be hard on him as he's coming back from a long lay off.

Sane...him and Diaz looked like the only two who had the bollocks to have a go.

Foden...not his greatest night. Plenty more better nights to come.

Gundogan...average.

Overall...that was garbage. You change 10 players from the first 11....that's what happens.

We're through, but for the fans who paid for that....it's simply unacceptable Pep.

Ended up watching our game...wish I didn't. Should have watched Spurs get knocked out....far more enjoyable than that fucking embarrassment.

Diaz played well, some good touches. He has shown once again that he can skin players. But he was kinda forced to try too much on (which he’s happy to do) because he didn’t get enough of the ball.

Cant argue with that BB, Gundogan invisible & although Bernado showed quality in the 1st half then disappeared in the 2nd.

That's the key point though wont happen in the later rounds, might happen in the Prem though if we get it won early.

Momentum SB....winning breeds a winning mentality.

It's OK giving kids a chance, but when you have the likes of TLMLF doing absolutely fuck all...Danilo giving ball after ball away as per Zinchenko...2 CB's who looked like they'd never played in the CL....it's pretty difficult to adapt and shine.

3/4 players in that team tonight should never have started. The mix was all wrong by Pep....he has to take that on the chin for making too many changes. He fucked up basically.

Caught the highlights show on ITV, 20 mins and thank god it wasn't any longer. Feel sorry for the poor sods that had to pay for that rubbish.

I paid for that rubbish and all I got was numb feet and a bad back.  It was utter shite.

Bravo: Faced two shots on target and both went in. There were times he reminded me of Calamity James, and not in a good way. He's done better than that, but I'd be inclined to suggest that this was the result of a better defence.

Zinchenko: Positionally awful, made very few tackles and some dreadful passing.

Stones: Looks like he's gone right off the boil.

Laporte: Really struggled all night, but I'm inclined to put that down to him having to cover for everyone else.

Danilo: Complete waste of space.

TLF: Why the hell was he captain? Slowed everything down too much. Put in some good challenges, but the point of being a DCM is to break up play and release the ball, and he never once did the latter. Responsible for both their goals, in my opinion.

Gundogan: Some nice touches, but no real creativity on display. About 95% of his passes went backwards or sideways.

Foden: Worked hard, but little endeavour. He's a bit out of his depth at this level, but at least he tried to make things happen. One of only two players who can come out of this game with any credit.

Bernardo: Excellent cross for our goal, and with his right foot as well!  After that, it was back to his "stop, onto the left foot and cut inside" nonsense.

Sané: The only other player who can come out of this with any credit. Ran the wing all night, terrorised the Basel defence, but every time he made anything happen, it all broke down with backward passing. At about the 70th minute, after another lung busting run and a pass to release Gundogan, he looked up to watch the ball go back to Yaya, then Laporte and then Bravo.  His stance said "What was the point of me doing that?" And I had to agree.

Jesus: Good effort to get onto the end of Bernardo's cross for the goal, but after that was anonymous.

Diaz: Got a decent 15 minutes in, ran sideways a lot, but far too weak on the ball.

Adarabioyo: Not on the pitch long enough to make any impact.

The first half, we looked okay, but the second half was as boring as all hell.  We broke the CL record for passes completed, but it's utterly meaningless in the context.

...............

Don't tell Dawg that. It was all Bravo's fault for the 2nd.

I agree Leo...his apathy to get back and challenge after giving sloppy balls away, were the cause of certainly, the second goal.

Sorry bluey, you just aren't objective.  Yaya was thenonw chasing the man.  Laporte just lolloped back. The other defenders didn't pay any attention to the goalscorer. And bravo letba shot go past him at the near post.

I'm happy to say Yaya shouldn'tbe playing but don't use him to excuse other players.

I thought Diaz did very well considering he didn't get a lot of the ball.

Ultimately, it doesn't matter who was directly at fault, we had nine players on the pitch who genuinely believed we were untouchable because we were so far in front from the first leg.

The only ones who showed any desire were Sane and Foden (and Diaz, when he came on), which is a damn shame because that side we had out, even with the combined drag factor of TLF and Clownio, should have been enough to bag a victory.

Granted, it doesn't matter as the net result was an aggregate victory, but I for one don't want to see that level of arrogance on display ever again.
