city vs brighton

Post by Topdawg on Wed May 09, 2018 5:34 am

Must win game if we want to be the first team to break 100 points in a season.

Strongest team out there and, sadly,Yaya.

Sadly ,not because he's going, but it'll not be as effective.

Can't see Yaya starting, but will get a 20 minute run at the end.

Need to start with best 11 available.

if Sunday was a template, I'd step Fernandinho to the bench and sit Yaya deeper to play quarterback tonight.
If we push a back 3 up tight behind him he will have options to ping the ball all over... -

                On mi-Ederson
        Stones  Ottamendi  Laporte
Danilo             Toure              Mendykins

              KDB          Foden
                  Bernard
                         Jesus

Brighton are safe, but will be tough to break down unless we get an early goal. They might be a little more adventurous going forward at times as again as they don’t have anything to lose. Not a walk in the park, but we should get the job done even with Yaya as holding MF. If they do sit back all game then YYa will get a few good passes in from that position.

lets look at the options -
Bravo - nope
Kompany - still carrying a knock
Tosin - won't get a game
Zinchenko - still hunting for trophy repair men
Delph - possibly, but I think we need Mendy if we start 3 at the back
Walker - looked jaded, night off/bench
Sterling - looked jaded, night off/bench
Sane - looked jaded, night off/bench
Aguero - injured
Silva - still in Valencia I think?
Fernandinho - Toure will likely be starting, so in his place
Diaz - I tempted to drop him in for Bernard
Nmacha - might make the bench
Gundongan - pep will probably start him, but I wanted Foden to start.

Not sure we are bothered about the 100 point mark now.  I think he is happy with beating the record points score of 95.

I can see a lot of changes for this game.

I see no reason why we wouldn't go out and try to win both games.
players are still trying to play for world cup spaces too..

equally decent shout of a team Dawg.

worth noting we have 2 games left..

Foden is on 4 appearance,
Diaz is on 3 appearances.

it's 5 to qualify for league medal automatically...

Couldn't find a stream so just watched goals on Sky app. Seemed easy enough. Record points just the round 100 to go

We should have slaughtered them but we are in coasting mode.

Having said that, we had at least 5 starters that wouldn't make our best XI, so wasn't too shabby

They all took their goals well....thought Danilo was outstanding all night. MOTM for me...and hit the crossbar.
