Re: Dinner Tonight!!
Blue, it's funny you should post this. I actually cooked for me and the lads on Friday..
Went for lamb and halloumi kebabs with a cheeky watermelon salsa. All made by yours truly. Went down a storm.

Re: Dinner Tonight!!
Watermelon salsa sounds like something I'll have to try out too! My kids are reasonably adventurous, so I think I'll wait until my eldest comes home next week and give it a crack.

Re: Dinner Tonight!!
It was really nice. Watermelon, red onion, cucumber, chilli, jalepeno, fresh mint, coriander and lots of salt (keeps the juices from extracting) and pepper.
Went really well with the kebabs.

Homemade peanut butter and nutella milkshakes. Went perfect with the Goats cheese & chorizo burger (see profile photo).

If I made them.....I don't think I could do enough sit-ups to get rid of those calories!!
They do look good though!

I remember, back in my Uni days, you could get this sponge treacle pudding that had about 2,000 calories per pack. Eat that and you couldn't walk for a week.

Well, my nimish didn't set but it still tasted alright (anything with double cream and sugar is bound to taste alright).
My sister says she'll put it through her ice cream maker and it'll set then!

Re: Dinner Tonight!!
Slightly on a tangent, I've been busy making country wines of late. I've already got a batch of elderflower and a batch of nettle bottled, a strawberry which should be ready to bottle in a couple of weeks, a rowanberry which is currently fermenting like there's no tomorrow (and the smell is like nectar!), a pear must and a hawberry must both in buckets and I'm currently stinking the kitchen out with boiled parsnips.

Re: Dinner Tonight!!
I made English shortribs simmered in a bottle of Cabernet with caramelized onions atop mashed taters with cream cheese, sour cream, onion garlic, - then topped with grated cheddar - and baked for 30 minutes. Accompanied by brocolli in a blue cheese sauce. It was fab - we all loved it.
Pud - was Malva pudding in a caramel/toffee sauce. Feel like the Vicar of Dibley now.

The missus made a lovely celery, chicken and potato soup with baguette from the boulangerie. I preferred the Hovis that I brought back from Blighty yesterday.

I'm about 6 miles south of Paris, not far from Orly. I daresay that Narbonne is a tad warmer than where I am though I'm about 4-5 degrees better off than Manchester.

Re: Dinner Tonight!!
Well I actually had steak, with sweet potato fries and BBQ beans with pulled pork. My friend had the doughnut burger, of which I ate half. Then I had a peanut butter cheesecake to finish. So easily over 3000 for me for the evening I think. Plus a couple of beers.
It was all free all night so had to take advantage.

Re: Dinner Tonight!!
So I decided to start a blog. I waffle so much on Twitter, and unfortunately 140 characters just ain't enough.
I'll be blogging about food, music, more food, peanut butter madness, rum and whatever else I can rant about.
Read my first post here about the opening of Red's BBQ in Manchester...

Another top blog mate....some interesting facts. Not really a Rum drinker, but have had quite a few cocktails when I've been in the Caribbean...and they were lush.
Blog getting better as well with the addition of photo's.

Thanks mate. Really enjoying the writing! Been a rum fine for a while so it was perfect for me.
I'm going to this on Friday, so I'll probably write about that I think.

Re: Dinner Tonight!!
Jordan you should try to get to the Rum Shack between Camden High street and The Roundhouse. The guy in there is a genius and it is certainly worth a visit when you're next in London.
I read somewhere that it's on a guide to 20 bars in the world you should visit.
