CITY ESCAPE A FIFA BAN - £315K fine instead....
So, FIFA accept our excuse about 2 under-age players and we escape with a fine.

I've seen Chelsea fans getting excited already, but didn't they have something like over 20 under age infractions compared to our 2. This will be funny and what about the fine? That's like fining us a penny chew.

But we could still be kicked out of the CL apparently

If it wasn’t for the financial implications for the club, I would be celebrating that possibility.

£315k isn't going to hurt us at all. It's half a percent of Mahrez's transfer fee. In fact, we could have a whip-round of the players and they could all donate ten minutes of their wages each and we'd have more than enough to see this one off.titbumwilly wrote:If it wasn’t for the financial implications for the club, I would be celebrating that possibility.

I agree that its a paltry fine and nothing to worry us but what concerns me is the fact that we made such a schoolboy error in the first place. Its claimed that it was due to a misunderstanding or misinterpretation of the regulations?
Surely with the professional staff that we have on our books in the coaching & legal side of things they should be double checking this kind of transaction especially in light of what happened to Chelsea.

I was talking about the financial implications of being kicked out of the (non) champions league, not the paltry fine!

Ah, yes, that would be a bit more of a financial whacking. Still, Chelsea weren't banned from competing, were they? I suppose we could argue we did a tenth of what they did, so we should only get a tenth of the slap.
