Rag bastards Away
Hopefully Pep has learnt from his last cup game against the rag twats when he decided to put a weak team out that we need to go full strength,so no Juliet in net for a start
I suspect we will go with 3 at the back and playing walker & Mendy as wing backs
Ederson
Garcia Fernandinho Stones
Walker KDB Rodri Mendy
Mahrez Jesus Sterling

Rather have Foden in there instead of Mahrez.

Prefer Rodri in front of the defence
Can’t see Foden starting 3 games in a week

Na, just me wishing on a star. Still think Mahrez is too greedy.Paulpowersleftfoot wrote:Prefer Rodri in front of the defence

That's how I'd start but Pep will probably have Gundogan, Mahrez n Stones in.

Is it just me that thinks Mendy isn't a defender? More a liability like Bravo (Nice goals for Everton & Wolves)

Tbh, I dint think there's a lot to choose between our 3 LBs. All 3 are a liability at times...but I wouldn't start any of them at left mid.Ashtonianblue wrote:Is it just me that thinks Mendy isn't a defender? More a liability like Bravo (Nice goals for Everton & Wolves)

Re: Rag bastards Away
Whilst Mendy has not been great, he may improve with a longer run in the team and for that reason i am all for giving him the benefit of the doubt for now. If he does however, get a run in the side at least to the end of the season but still fails to impress then his contract should not be renewed and he should be moved on.

Re: Rag bastards Away
Mendy’s probably the pick of the three as a wing-back ahead of a back three, Zinky probably the more disciplined full-back in a back four. With a Pep bigging up Angelino in yesterday’s press conference, and all three getting regular game time, it seems unlikely any of them will be getting replaced any time soon. Looks like we’ll just have to get used to it. Ian Cheeseman was speaking highly of EDS left-back Nathanael Ogbeta recently, maybe he’s the longer-term solution?

I had hoped he would give Ederson a run out,
Rashford will target otamendi knowing he will go diving in, and Bravo is always a liability

How the heck did we lose at home to this lot? Apart from a bit of pace up front they’ve got nothing.

Well that’s annoying. Let’s not let them back into this, they don’t deserve it.

Not quite so silky second half, but still pretty impressive. Bernardo, Mahrez, Fern, Gundo, Walker all excellent. Not quite job done but pretty close.

Re: Rag bastards Away
Great first half. Let em back in it a bit the second, but we should have done enough for another trip to Wemberley. Who needs strikers eh?

Re: Rag bastards Away
Despite being the most pessimistic blue, I think that’s job done.
They have to come out in the second leg, and with that defence there is no way we won’t score more goals.
All in all not a bad day’s sport; fantastic test win followed by a semi-final win at the theatre of shite. That’ll do for me.

That first half was truly a thing of beauty. Absolutely battered them. This City is ours - no debate.
