Carling cup v arsenal
Do you think Mancini will put a full strength team out against Arsenal or do the same as against wolves and rest the 11 who started the previous game which will be away at Anfield?
With the game following the Arsenal game being Norwich at home I hope we go for it at the Emirates and play a weaker side against Norwich and trust in the squad being strong enough to beat Norwich whoever he plays.
We've never won at the Emirates and I think it would give us a real psychological advantage if we can win there for the premier league game three weeks later at home and also for the return fixture in April where we would go there confident with that bogey off our backs.
Wenger doesn't have anywhere near the strength of squad and with them being in a real battle for the CL places,I doubt they would play a full strength side against us so hopefully we could reach the semis where I would fancy City strongly over 2 legs against anyone.

Mancini want to win everything so I think he will play LemonPants, have 4/5 from EDS on the bench but play with the strongest team!
I think its too much to ask the kids to beat Arsenal away... I don't think he will start with the kids and then bring in the big guns... I think he is too conservative for that approach!
Who knows I might be completely wrong... other factors such as injuries and the fact that Mancini Prioritizes, 1- Premiere League and the CL, 2- The Domestic Cups .

There's nothing wrong with playing a "weakened" team as he did against Wolves, all the top team do and have done it in the past. The players on show against Wolves did the job pretty well, so why not give them the chance again.
Don't think you can class that side as "kids" Gsus (apart from 1 or 2), but i do agree a stronger team may well be needed against Arsenal.
The CC is 4th on the priority list imo, so the Major players should be rested and the fringe players given a start.

Tend to agree with Shaken......weaker team, with some EDS/experience involved....the likes of Onuaha, Savic, Zaba, NDJ, Tevez????

Have to agree, it lulls them into false hope when we put the full strength team out for the league.
Plus even the team that played at Wolves in the week are capable of getting a result there.

the team we played at wolves should be more than capable.
we had a defence of zabba, KoLo, Savic, KoLa
nasri, NDJ and johnson in midfield
dzeko up front
we can easily do something similar when we play the arse.
i'd rather we play the best team available so that we get through

If we beat arsenal when would you prefer to humiliate the rags again, both legs of the semi or Wembley?

why can't we do it like the rugby league? beat them in both semis and then beat them in the final as well?

I would put out a stronger team than against Wolves & hopefully rest 1 or 2 against Norwich
Hart (He won't be tired)
Zabba Savic Kompany or Lescott Kolarov
AJ DeJong Yaya Nasri
Dzeko Tevez (we'll have to play him sometime or he can walk apparently)

I think we should go for it, maybe rest one or two players, but we should take the Carling Cup seriously - the perfect oppertunity to get some silverware under the belt early on in the season which will relieve some pressure when facing the three other competitions.
