Quietly Confident
All credit to Alan Pardew's team for holding their top 4 spot so far this season. I think it will be a tough game on the weekend. They haven't been creating any big fanfare about their position in the league so far but their determination to win this season has been commendable. I don't think it will be a romp for us.

Agreed Wensdi, and all the crap about they havnt faced anyone remindes me of just before a certain recent derby. Nope it wont be easy but I cant see Mancini letting the players take it easy either. One of the advantages of a large, hungry squad, no one wants to be on the first side that loses in the prem

Re: Quietly Confident
Considering everyone thought they were finished after selling Nolan, Carroll etc., their footie scout has done a good job of bringing in low cost talented players and Pardew has done a good job of organizing his team. He has also won over a lot of the fans who didn't want him there (understandbly) when Ashley got rid of Hughton.

we shouldn't be losing to newky, but you never know.
i doubt we will underestimate them at all, i just hope we come out and play at the right tempo from the getgo.

I don't think we will under estimate them Dawg - but there again we all thought we'd be lucky to get a draw at the swamp. So you never know on the day - we drew with Fulham FFS.

Re: Quietly Confident
I'm more confident going into it as we're at home, don't really like Pardew either so don't want us to lose.
They've got the best defensive record in the league and we've got the best attacking record so that makes for an interesting game, as well as the fact we're both unbeaten. Don't think they'll try and hold us to a draw, Everton have shown teams that we will eventually break them down, so they'll have to have a go at us, which should give us enough space to really have a go at them.
Just need to keep David Silva as far away from Tiote as possible!

Well at least we won't have to suffer Kevin Nolan flapping his wings - if they score. Always irritated me that did.
I like Alan Pardew - Bean.

It'll still be a poor do if we lose/draw this weekend despite Newcastles start, it won't be a romp but should still be 3pts.
Credit to Pardew and Co though.
