What was baconface thinking?
Momentum is such a big thing in football, has ferguson unwittingly killed off utds challenge?Entirely possible.
By weakening utd by dropping Rooney petulantly, playing players out of position and using the dreadful de Gea,ferguson has taken all the pressure off city for the sunderland game today and the home game against Liverpool on Tuesday and put all the pressure back on his own team for the tricky trip to Newcastle. All the work of the last few weeks after the 1-6 humiliation in reducing the gap will have been undone and I now fully expect a 6 point gap to be the result leading into the FA cup game next weekend where utd will come to the Etihad mentally weakened by this weeks turn around in momentum and start on the back foot.
If utd had battered Blackburn yesterday, which they should have done because Blackburn are simply awful, then I think City would have struggled with the mental pressure and dropped points but I expect them to be 6 points clear when utd line up at st James park
Football is played in the mind,as ferguson has shown with Keegan and Rafa & his facts,it would seem he's playing mind games with his own team and supporters now
Happy Birthday indeed fergie

Re: What was baconface thinking?
Think he'd been at the red wine a bit prematurely, not unlike many a pundit, who'd stated that Utd would end 2011 on top of the Prem!
Dropping Rooney because he'd had a quiet meal with the missus, instead of staying in cooped up....? Mario burns his house down, Mancini plays him the next day and he begins the rout of OT... need I say more?
I just hope we play with the handbrake off today, firstly, win, then recoup some of the goal difference if we can! I'm not expecting a easy game, and I don't really have any answers to which team or tactics Mancini will play, full strength, notch up a few goals by half time, then bring on AJ for Silva, NDJ for YaYa, Dzeko for Mario, or Milner for Barry? I predict we'll spend most of the game on the front foot and our defence won't be troubled enough to wear them out, it may just be WBA all over again, but we can't be that wayward infront of goal again!

he was taking the piss with his team selection and positional selection.
even then, they nearly snook this one.
unless they spend, they are going backwards
