How shit is Kolarov?

i haven't thought he has been that bad really, but my mind is changing. awful tackle when micah was there for the pen. not good enough tbh for us.

I understand that he was in there to make up a bit of height, and with Clichy rested (Mancini clearly prioritising the Carling Cup), and I understand that Nasri offered him no support, but he is just awful.

I think we'd be better with Zab at LB and Kolarov pushed into the midfield.

I think he can contribute something to the team, last season he did alright in midfield against weaker sides - and I think that could be one way of unlocking sides this season that put eleven men behind the ball. Usually we have a lot of set pieces against these teams, but make little use of them.

But against better teams, I worry every time he's on the team sheet.

He is just there for the free kicks, Bridge would have been better as a left back and I can't believe I am typing that!

Sorry but for the odd free kick that hits the target he is just not worth it. As a FB he is worse than Bridge & he is not good enough to play ahead of any of our MF.

Zabba is better at FB & in MF

Don't think we need a new LB if we let him go, rate Clichy and Zab fills in there well enough when called upon.

When we're rotating and come up against the likes of Sunderland or West Brom though and we're getting on average 10 corners per game that we don't take advantage of, playing Kolarov in LM with Dzeko up top is a shout I think, might not work like. At LB though he's shite and a complete liability.

I think we are being harsh on Kolarov. He doesn't seem to get much protection on the left side. See Johnson busting a gut these days to cover with Micah.

Also let's keep in mind the match sharpness.. would need a good run of games to be up to scratch. I still have faith..

I've said it all along, complete shite, will never be a good enough tackler to be left back. He can score as many free kicks as he likes, but his 1st job is to defend and he cant do that.

Kolarov's poor, end of. Totally agree with the above post, so no more needs to be added.

I don't think Kolarov is so bad as to warrant the word "shit", but he's not LB material. I'd say he's definitely in the Garrido mould (I've never forgiven him for letting Chelsea pass him for five of those 6 they did us for a few years back) as his positional play is poor and he can't tackle to save his life.

He's frustrating to watch, too. Made the same mistake, time and again, of moving inside, away from Valencia. And then when Valencia got the ball, he'd run out to get him and have the ball played over his head whilst he's in no man's land.

I'd definitely pick Zabs as a backup left back. He may not be the most accomplished, but I love his attitude to being a squad player and I know he'll always pour everything he has into the game. Even his blood.

Sell him and replace him with Alba.

Last season I stuck up for him but this year he has been even worse.
