There is absolutely no way City will pay £40m for ANY defender in the world. We will be lucky if we pay £15m+...as it will be for cover, nothing more.

If the rumours of Barca wanting Zaba - then maybe cover at RB as well - which in turn will be a £15m region signing. The days of £25m+ signings for defenders are long gone with the FFP.

The only BIG money will be on a player that can change a game from midfield - a la Silva, a wide player with pace who scores and sets up goals (Hazard?) or another CF to replace one of Dzeko or Tevez....that'll be it.

We've won the league, got 10 points in the CL group stages, that players have all experienced now, so why suddenly are we supposed to be over-hauling our team?
