favourite shirt
with the new shirt out this friday, i thought i'd ask about your favourite shirts in terms of style and fit.
Personally, I really like the fit of the current away shirt (also used in the FA Cup memorial shirts).
In terms of style, I like the shirt we had for 2010/11.

Re: favourite shirt
only ever had 3, an umbro triangle v-neck mid 70's number, a long sleeved with the umbro tape down the sleeve when I was 10, then 30's years later when the 1st retro styled shirt came out 2010/11 which I do like

Re: favourite shirt
Favourite all time is my first like Beware, mid 70s full white collar and placket. Prefer collars and white trim on sleeve ends in general. Not a fan of dark collar - reminds me of Brother kit period and I think it cheapens the look (for some reason I associate black kit with cheap sweatiness unless it is sufficiently offset with enough white alongside?)
Away-wise though, the brother period did provide my fave - loved the purple with white chalk stripe, again with full collar.
If I had to go without full collar, then round or v is fine - as long as is white on the home kit.
Really didn't like the no collar on our 2010/11 shirt, but sleeve trim just about saved it for me. Still feels like I'm wearing cheap night-shirt or something.
Feel free to analyse and draw sweeping conclusions on my personality based on the above.

Re: favourite shirt
I too had that same shirt Bewar3, it was my 1st and i absolutely loved it as no-one else at my school had it.
I loved the purple Brother one, regretably i swapped it when i was half cut for 3 bottles of rum to one of the hotels entertainment staff when i was holidaying in Cuba. I always remember saying to him, one day we'll be the best and all your mates will be envious you've got that........that time is now here!

Re: favourite shirt
My fave of the recent ones was the 09/10 shirt, the first one of the Umbro retro ones. Feels like a t-shirt, it's the most comfortable replica shirt I've ever owned. Other than that, I liked the 70s away shirt, the white one with the red and black diagonal sash. And last season's away kit was very nice too.

Re: favourite shirt
My favourite shirt - is one from Banana Republic - its cream and the neck line is super flattering. Trouble is it's about shagged out and I've never been able to replicate it. LOL

Lovely choice of words Wnsdi...
Mine was the purple one with white lines down. THink I had the full kit as a young lad for that one, back in the 90's..

Re: favourite shirt
i loved the shirt we wore on the opening day of the 07/08 season with sven at the helm. The white shirt with the light blue sash across the shoulder. i still love wearing that shirt and the 2nd strip of the 10 / 11 season the dark blue shirt.
shaken i have still got the purple brother shirt one of my faves at the moment for when i play squash, Don't know why but it feels so comfortable.
i noticed that they are still selling that shirt on ebay from time to time.

Re: favourite shirt
Each kit i've had over the years, and I must admit it's been a few years since I bought one, I have associated with a particular player.
My all time favourite therefore will always be my Dennis Tueart kit. That is THE City kit. Perfect when you're 9 and you are in the middle of a 20-a-side game on the cricket pitch and you're surrounded by Arsenal and Chelsea shirts (I felt like a beacon of class in a sea of dullness).
Later I loved my Niall Quinn (purple) shirt.
Happy memories.
