Thoughts on Liverpool game

Playing 3-5-2 away at Anfield can only ever work if the team outbattle the opposition and dominate possession.We did neither and were extremely fortunate to escape with a point
If there is a reason for playing Kolo Toure as part on that 3 and leaving a far superior player in Lescott on the bench,I've yet to hear it.
It's not the first time the team selection has bewildered me to be fair but this one with numbnuts up front doing fuck all as usual and Kolorov,who continues to steal his wages,as a theoretical wing back meant we would always be outnumbered in midfield.

Every year we come to Liverpool,whether it's Anfield or Goodison,get outbattled in the centre of the park by a team that want it more,and either get stuffed or luckily escape with a point.Its not actually rocket science to play 4-2-3-1 with de Jong & Rodwell protecting a back 4. These matches you earn the right to play how you want to play and until the coaching staff realise this,sadly days like yesterday will continue

i don't have too much of a gripe with the system, just the personnel.

balotelli instead of, well, anyone??? Dzeko upfront from the start and tell him to work his balls off.

we weren't all that bad for the first 20 minutes or so. Had we taken a chance, i could see liverpool crumbling like they did at wba.

If we are gonna use that system I would have preferred

Nasri is starting to look like he is worth his place,and Dzeko is always worth his place, he really does have an effect on defences.Whenever he gets the ball there are at least two covering him,which means there is more space in the middle.

I see that none of our lads have gotten on Garth Crooks goalscoring table,yet.Why are'nt Tevez and Nasri on there?

I've said what i thought on the "3 at the back" thread, which is more or less what you've said PPLF.

The 4-2-3-1 system would be alot better suited at Anfield and may well have paid off, but i guess we'll never know. If Clichy was on paternity leave, i'd have lined up:

Anyway, a points a point at the end of the day......so it wasn't all bad.
