On the day when United confirm the purchase of Wilfried Zaha, who are we in the running for?

Nathan Redmond. Question

For anyone wondering, he's an 18 year old who currently plays for Birmingham City and apparently we've had our eyes on him for some time. Apparently he's got potential. Presumably it'll be realised by his regular appearances on the bench and possibly the odd few minutes of playing time when the game is already done and dusted.

In other news, our swoop for Begovic which turned into a swoop for Butland may now turn into a swoop for nothing at all. And today Mario isn't going anywhere.

Got to admit leo, it isn't lookin that good for transfer activity down at the Etihad. Maybe the gaffer thinks he has the team capable of reigning in the Rags once more.....time will tell but he'd better be right.

Nathan Redmond.....umm, we'll see.

We can't afford any big purchases without offloading first. It really is that basic. Although the irony is we can afford any player on the planet, however we don't turn over enough for FFP. It's all becoming total bollux.

Then when Scum and The Arse get their way and implement the same in the prem they can all get fecked. That is the day I stop watching football.

I still think the way to beat FFP is to go and hoover up every top class player in the world. People are more keen to see the players and if we have them all, they'll want to see us. And when UEFA realise they're losing revenues by not showing our games, they'll soon cave in and let us play anyway.

the next tv deal should put paid to our losses. all we need to do is get through the group stages of the chumps league and we'll be turning in a profit.

for me, why not get butland in for £3.5M?

He'd be decent competition for Hart and, if he wants out after a season or two, then we can sell him for £10M!!!!

I like that. All we need to do! You make it sound so easy! Razz

But I'll be very interested to see what sort of draw we get in the CL next season. If we get a third successive group of death while our English counterparts get easier groups then I'll know we've got some warmed balls in play.

it's partly our own fault for not ever getting through the group. if we could manage it then our coefficient should rise enough to make us a top seed.

Spurs coefficient can't be much better than ours but they seemed to avoid groups as tough as the ones we have had, not that they were easy but not as tough.

That wouldn't make any difference. Our group of death included a Borussia Dortmund side that topped the group despite being in pot 3. Now if they can be that far down the tree and still dominate even the top seeded Real Madrid, then the whole seeding thing is a smokescreen. Even if we're a top seed and miss out on teams like Bayern, Barca or RM in future, who's to say we won't come across the toughest teams in each pot? After all, RM did this year.

Our first year, I was willing to put it down to bad luck. This year, I was willing to chalk it up to coincidence. If we get a group of death next year, I think some people will start asking questions.

Dortmund thrashed F.C. Nurnberg (?) last night 3-0 and Lewendowski was running amok as were the midfield who controlled the game. We need to sign this guy, Cavani or Falcao and stop letting all our closest rivals strenghthen while we sit on our hands. There are rumours that old Baconface is planning to sign Lewendowski in the summer so it would be a coo if we could nip in there and beat him to it .
