If we're gonna be splashin the cash......Bale, Fallaini and Wilshire should be first in line. Imo we need proven PL players, not some 21yr old Brazilian who probably doesn't even know where Manchester is.

Well if this is anywhere true....we should ask for a straight swap for Lewandowski.

I think we should be making moves for players like Neymar if only to show we mean business. I'd still take Fellaini and Bale over Neymar as they are proven enough.

We have to consider the top players that we could get. If Spuds qualify for the champs league, Bale stays or moves to Spain. We have to only target the best players and make sure we get at least one rather than the shite we ended up last summer.

As Den says, at this moment we need proven PL players. Bale, Fellani, RvP (last season). Even £40m for Cavanni and Falcao £50m seems to bigger risk for me. Lewandowski at £15m much safer bet, but he's definitely going to Bayern.

I'm glad to see a lot of people here who agree with me. Neymar couldn't cut it against Glen Johnson, so he'll have no chance in the PL at all. I'm tired of us picking up Brazilian players anyway, they always sound like a better deal than they actually are. In fact, the only one we've had that I rated at all was Elano and even he was a bit mercurial.

That said, Fred looked a bit handy and he certainly looked like he had a bit of strength and pace. And I bet he'd be a shitload cheaper than Neymar as well.

Trouble is the speculation is all well and good but I don't think we can afford £50m on a player unless we seriously offload still. Yes we can easily afford it, but that is a massive FFP chunk to hide on the books.

We're stitched up to this 105m loss over 3 years lark and it's going to bite us in the arse big style.

If they want to spend £100M, I am pretty sure they can and comply with FFP. It would just need some serious creativity, that's all.

Like my A Blue Dhabi season ticket (generating £10M profit each season). Throw in some very expensive corporate hospitality and we can keep that money coming in.

i read yesterday that there is a bit of a war going on between City and Barca.

Neymar is going to Barca and the City link is just made up so that Barca can shoot us down.

What, really? Are Barca jumping on the "Let's pick on City" bandwagon, or are they just pissed off because they've never beaten us?

Well, we have two ex execs who want to bring more staff/players from Barca and want us to target Barca targets too so Barca are not too pleased.

Every player in the world wants to win top prizes and that includes the CL so Barca will be the main choice for most of them. However, even the fabulous Barcelona cannot sign every player in the world even if they wanted to. If they signed Neymar, and i hope they do, then who will he replace? Just the same as City, they have to sell to buy, no?

The thing is Neymar is being supplied by Elano, at Santos and has been for the last couple of seasons.I really don´t rate him for the PL,and someone mentioned buying Wilshire,that would be a load of c***,he is very overrated,now Bale is another story!!

I'm glad you said that about Wilshire Bob, I have been of the same opinion. I think he flatters to deceive and is not as great as the press would have us believe. Don't get me wrong, he's a decent enough player, just not as world class as is made out in my opinion, he's also got an aggressive streak that gets him into disciplinary problems at times. A little injury prone too perhaps, god knows we have enough problems with the likes of Micah and Michael Johnson we don't want another crock.
I would love to have Bale but I think spuds would see us coming and inflate his price to about £90m.
