Who do we want to win...
tonight?
Origionally i wanted the Rags to go all the way to the semi-final of the CL and heartbreakingly bow out to an injury time own goal, purely to knacker them out for the PL run-in. However, now the PL title seems to be over (imo), i reckon a Real Madrid masterclass is in order to hand out an absolute stuffing.
What da ya think?

Re: Who do we want to win...
no stick with manure to win any glimmer of hope of us winning the championship is fine by me, the more utd have to play the more chance of injuries, tiredness can set in a couple of losses and then the nerves set in. Was reading on BBC that back in 68 with 6 games to go we were all but out of contention for the league, But united had set their sights firmly on european cup thus taking their eye of the league. Why not do it again, we all know taggarts obsesssion with epitomising Liverpools acheivements of 5 european cups. They have overtaken them on premiership titles so europe is the carrott.

Re: Who do we want to win...
I'm in two minds about this and it's all down to recent articles going on about how the rags are going to go for the treble and how they're going to do it comfortably with the best team they've had since 1999. They're essentially a retread of the same articles in 2011 when they'd reached the semi-final of the FA Cup and Champions League and were a good few points ahead of Chelsea. Of course, that season we got to kick them out of the FA Cup and kill their treble hopes, and then laugh at them further when Barca handed them a masterclass in football, making them look like chumps. Unfortunately, they grabbed the league title in the same weekend we won the FA Cup because Chelsea were utterly useless at keeping up with them.
So I want their treble hopes razed to the ground and I want it to happen this week. I'd like to see Madrid utterly destroy them and then this weekend, still reeling from that, have Chelsea turf them out of the FA Cup. This double whammy putting paid to their treble hopes may see them shake just enough that they chuck away enough points for us to catch right up to them when we meet in April.
I don't much care if they win the league this season, we've just not been good enough to compete. But I'd like this to be the week in which their treble hopes are crushed to dust!

A Hat-trick from the prancing show pony, with him doing an Adebayor type celebration at the Streford End. United Fans then rip out all the seats and throw them onto the pitch, to then be banned from Europe for 3 years.
Slur Alex can't stand the shame, resigns in the morning and they don't win another point all season.

And they get a 10 point penalty for their shameful behaviour, which is appealed, turned down and applied the day before we play them. They are so distraught, they concede two early goals, then they get two players sent off in quick succession and van Pooseh gets crocked. We go on to win 10-0, take over at the top of the league and go on to win a domestic double. Chelsea, Spurs and Arsenal, spurred on by this chain of events, also overhaul the rags and have them dropped straight into the EL places. From which they're banned anyway!blisteringblue wrote:A Hat-trick from the prancing show pony, with him doing an Adebayor type celebration at the Streford End. Small world - Blueboy/PPLF. Yes it is a nice pub - next time I'm over - I'll let you know - it's definitely worth another visit.
Blueboy if you live in that area you must know Willington Hall - been there loads - the food is good there too - especially the meringues - you can't get them here, I have to make my own. Also liked the Hazel Pear in Acton Bridge. Crikey - sound like a pub crawler.

Re: Who do we want to win...
Wensdi..I know Willington Hall as it's only 4 miles away from me and I used to drop my niece off there when she worked there as a 15/16 year old.
Very nice hotel and restaurant.
Only been to The Hazel Pear once for a drink as Northwich is 10-15 miles away from Tattenhall...but it was nice as well.
You should try The Pheasant in Burwardsley next time you are in my area and call me for a meet-up! Voted in the top 100 Sunday Times pubs in the UK last year.
Our delegates tend to stay there from overseas....and love it!

I was training a European Space Agency Astronaut last year and he included in his blog The Pheasant (see pic).
