Very good performance today

Thought the lads played incredibly well.
We could never keep up the pace and effort of the first half, but considering the amount of 3 on 2's we had....2-1 seems a let down. The result is all that matters....but please don't give me that nervousness again this season!!
Pants - 8 ....2 great saves.
Zaba - 9...thought his tackling was awesome today.
Vinny - 8.. close to the edge again.
Nasty - 7....solid apart from one mistake.
Clichy - 7....solid.
Milner - 6.....thought his crossing was woeful again....when he broke in the first half - WTF?
Barry - 7...would have had an 8, but kept giving loose passes away 2nd half.
Yaya - 9....knackered by 70 minutes, but still put some lung busting runs in, although did cock up in some of those 3 vs 2 situations....otherwise would have been a 10.
Nasri - 7...solid 1st half display, tired rapidly after 60 minutes.
Tevez - 8....usual hard work rate, could have been played in twice by Yaya but for poor balls.
Aguero - 8..great goal, great effort, however, can only see a 3 match ban coming for something stupid in retaliation.

Agree about aguero, very silly. Lets hope the ref saw it so that rediculous rule is in our favour for once!

Fair play to chelski for making it a game, but in all honestly we should have been 4 up before they scored.

1st half was brilliant and we should have been in a more comfortable position going in at the break, the 2nd half however was very average and below par imo. Despite a couple a good opportunities to put the game to bed, i don't think i ever felt relaxed from the minute they scored. We looked laboured and slow for the majority of the last 25minutes and that worried me, but we managed to hold out and get over the line.
Thought Clichy and Milner had poor games by their standards but Clichy didn't get the support from Nasri as much as he should have. Still think we missed Silvas industry throughout but we got the result in the end and he'll be back for the final.
Was a bit annoyed that both Vinny and Nasty didn't deal with their goal better, but we'll give um that for turnin up eh fellas .
Other than that, your marks and assessments are pretty much spot on blue.

Forgot about Milner Shaken.....thought he was pretty poor again...so gave him a 6.
He needs to seriously up his passing at the moment.

Although he did get into a few good positions with 1st half diagonal runs into the box - just needed a final ball.

Thought the ref was good today - he certainly overlooked a lot - that other refs wouldn't have. Thought we were bloody lucky that Torres didn't get a penalty - and what was Aguero thinking. First 50 to 60 minutes - City should have been up at least by 4 goals - but we fizzled out and let Chelsea in. If only Aguero could have scored from Yaya's run. Soooooooo nervous for the last 30 minutes - it could have been a disaster.

Tevez Yaya Aguero & Zabba were magnificent. Very good by Barry, Nasty, Vince, Pants & Nasri. The rest were good
Aguero WTF !! Definite ban coming his way but then Torres should have gone for getting revenge 10 mins later & Ramires was a tad fortunate too

Wigan on Wednesday will be very interesting now. We deffo shouldn't get complacent as they can be a good side on their day

The result was right but the late performance was a bit nervy,we should do better against Wigan!!

Agree that Augero could be looking at a retrospective ban, but it's the same old story all the press are concentrting on Aguero, and not a word said about the stamp by Torres on Augero which was planned retalliation.
But as usual the FA will do FA about it.

Luiz had it coming, infact he's had it coming all season, he's a dirty bastard and a coward, he was having a go at Aguero all game, and then when they challenged for the ball Luiz smashed his foearm into Aguero, I suspect that was the straw that broke the camels back, and the normally placid Aguero saw red, shouldn't have done it mind, but the ref gave a free kick? can't remember, seeing as they did sweet FA about that challenge on Garcia, what's the likelyhood that as it was a prestige game they somehow tweak the rules to ban Aguero? 3 game ban will include Prem games so he'll be back for final

Mancini should have reacted a lot quicker to Chelsea's changes, Yaya was flagging way before he was fouled just before he shot and ended up prostrate on the ground, Dzeko was the obvious choice, Garcia shouldve been on as soon as Torres came on, if you watch the Grand Prix, the teams react instantly to the others to counter any advantage, Mancini should take note, but for Pants we'd be buggered.

1st half we should've been 3 up with the chances and possession we had, then we could've sat back and mopped up on the break, still, should've scored more than 2, 3-1 would not have flattered us.

No further action for Aguero. I was very bemused yesterday. So out of character, obviously just seen red and Sideshow Bob had probably been nibbling at him all game. Not that there is any excuse, Aguero totally in the wrong and he has been lucky to escape a ban.

We're just not clinical enough going forwards, after two years of me bleating about it! So many sitters going begging... I don't expect us to score all of them, but seriously, we should've been three up in the first half and comfortable in the second. It's mildly annoying that, after the easier goals we missed, the one goal we DID score was due to a massive slice of good luck for Nasri.

Still, apart from mild annoyance at poor finishing and 25 minutes of stress, it's job done and the raggies are now considering leaving the banner in mothballs for another season
