Breaking the Far East
http://www.sportsdirectnews.com/sports-business/26232-man-city-sign-indonesian-deal.php
Manchester City have signed their first ever sponsorship in Indonesia, in order to exploit their significant social media presence in the region.
The deal will see Daihatsu become the club’s “official automotive partner” in Indonesia next season.
City directors became convinced of the potential benefits of the deal after having become aware of a strong Indonesian following on their Facebook page.
Speaking exclusively to SportsDirect News, a Manchester City spokesperson said: “Indonesian City fans make up a large percentage of our Facebook following and are extremely passionate about the club.
“It is a region that the club hopes to expand in commercially and grow it’s fan base.”
The spokesperson added: “Retail and social media are key areas for international growth, both in terms of revenue and fan engagement.”
Manchester City players will also travel to Indonesia this summer to take part in local promotions.
City are due to play in the pre-season Barclays Asia Trophy in Hong Kong between 24-27 July, with Tottenham Hotspur, Sunderland and South China FC also to feature.

The green typeface takes me right back to the old MGA monitors I used to use back in the day. Green on green, how very IBM 3270...

Yeah, we had touch screens all right. When you wanted to show someone something, you'd touch the screen where it was, so they'd know which bit to look at. They were pretty sturdy beasts, these screens.Jordan wrote:You mean you didn't have these touchscreen devices in your young days guys?

I know! I remember one of the beasts I had to look after was an IBM System/360 which used 8 inch floppies that held a massive 180kb of data. And now you can get a card that's smaller than the nail on your little finger which holds 180,000 times more than that. And it plugs into a mobile phone which has more processing capacity than the laptop I used to use 10 years ago.Moonchester wrote:But all these new disks and hard drives keep getting smaller.. )

When i was at school we didn't even have paper, it hadn't been invented!! We used to scratch on slate tablets with a sharpened bone from the spine of a dead chicken.

Re: Breaking the Far East
Never touched a computer until 2007
Didn't have them at school and never needed one until then when I had to accept the newfangled devices are sometimes mightier than the pen
Still don't use one much, even at work I handwrite estimates & invoices much to the annoyance of the girls in the office who thought it apt to pin a picture of a stegosaurus on my office door
