live on freeview tonight apparently, BT has made it free for tonight only for the launch

http://www.uswitch.com/broadband/news/2 ... el_launch/

TV viewers will be able to tune into the new BT Sport channels for free when they launch at 6pm tonight (Thursday August 1st 2013).

BT is opening up its subscription sport service to all Freeview and Sky TV viewers for the first day, allowing them to get a taste of the action.

For one day only, BT Sport will be available on Freeview channel 57, enabling viewers to enjoy the launch show from the broadcaster's new studio in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.

Sky customers will also be able to tune in on Sky Guide channel 413, even if they have not signed up to BT Sport.

The channels will be free-to-air from 6pm on August 1st to 12.45am on August 2nd.

BT customers can also tune in for free through BT TV with Infinity, via the BT Sport app or using the firm's online player.

The action starts on BT Sport tonight with a special live show featuring most of the channels' new presenters, experts, commentators and special guests.

These include Jake Humphrey, Clare Balding, Craig Doyle, Michael Owen, Matt Dawson, Anne Keothavong, Ray Stubbs, Austin Healey and Helen Skelton.

BT says the live show will give viewers "a taste of what is to come from BT Sport", and will feature live links from across the UK.

The show will air simultaneously on BT Sport 1 and BT Sport 2, until the moment the two channels become independent.

At this point, viewers will see Jake Humphrey head to the football studio to cover the Audi Cup on BT Sport 1.

And Craig Doyle will move to the BT Sport rugby studio to cover the JP Morgan Asset Management 7s on BT Sport 2.

From tomorrow (Friday August 2nd), TV viewers will be required to subscribe for BT Sport, unless they have a BT broadband connection and are entitled to free access

Well we got outclassed for much of that 1st half but could have ended the half 2 up if Negrado didn't have corners on his head ! Great crossing by Milner He's bin brilliant per season

far better 2nd half, Navas is a whippet down the wing!
Negredo got too much on that!

Decent workout, I've enjoyed the game. Poor penalty but they should have been 3 up.

Hargreaves is quite good in the BT commentary, could make a nice career for himself there.

Decent showing from all the new boys.

We struggled the first 40 or so minutes -  I saw one possession stat and they had something like 70 odd % possession.

Negredo could have had about 5, but I'm glad he got the monkey off his back with a well taken goal.

Poor decision for the penalty and if Boyata wants to be a top defender, he can't allow a ball to just go by him when he knows there is an attacker behind. He should have been diving to head that ball away.

We could have scored 5 or 6 goals, which isn't bad against the best team in Europe.

Overall I'm quite satisfied with the performance.

Yep overall I'm satisfied Thought Biyota was superb until the goal Kompany is looking back to his imperious best Negrados gonna be a great success in the PL Navas looks shit hot Milner looking good
Prob just about a fair result but its a shame the ref gave them the game with that ridiculous penalty
We certainly have nothing to fear against the best team in Europe !

I thought Zabba had a shocker. He would always be up against it with Robben and Ribery around but he looked slow and lethargic.

In the premier league he can get away with it as we'll have so much possession but against top class attacking teams, he looks like he might struggle.

But Zabs hasn't played a game until tonight, has he?

I'd set this to record, then discovered they've renamed and retuned the bloody channel, so I got three hours of "You need to retune".  Fucksticks Evil or Very Mad

I thought Zabba had a shocker too.  He just struggled against BM.  Can't say the penalty was his fault - it was unfortunate.  Thought the new boys looked excellent and also Nasri had a great game as did Milner.

Pellegrini seemed happy enough, 'Against The Champions League winners, in their stadium, with their referee, with their best team"
and with a more advanced pre-season too!
Maybe it's best we didn't win, keep our feet on the ground, and not get carried away too early, me, I was very happy with the performance, and more than happy with our new signings!

Absolutely pissed off that I did not get to see any of either game. To rub salt into the wound have tried to watch the highlights on the city website and they don't work. The interviews are all ok but match highlights sweet FA!!!!

Ive tried to log on to that link but it just does not work. the screen stays black & blank in the bottom right corner where it normally tells you the length of the video it says 0.00. I had the same problem with the Milan game, yet the video interviews after both games were all ok.

Try the mcfc official Youtube page - the highlights are not up yet, but guess they will be anytime soon. After game interviews are though.

How come as Pelligrini said, did we get a German team in Germany with a German referee? This bloke made some bad decisions in the Champions league last season, and the decision to book Boyota was,to say the least questionable. In the second half he he was rubbish:) Smile Smile

It's a German cup sponsored by a German car manufacturer, being hosted in Germany for the benefit of the population of Germany and to give the current European champions, from Germany, a chance to play a few games in front of their home crowd.  Who are mainly Germans, I'd expect.

So, yes, a non-German ref would've been fairer.

Sorry, I think the sarcasm in my last post didn't come over especially well.

I was trying to emphasise the sheer German-ness of the competition in order to show that the referee being German would perhaps be construed as cheating.  But as we all know, Germans never cheat Wink
