Getting the excuses in early
Appears Gollum has decided that the fixtures are a bit of a fix this season as he has all difficult games early on in the season.

What a dick. I hope United end up fifth just because he's being such a moron.

So he's already decided the FA are "punishing" United because of the way these fixtures have dropped out. Aside from the fact it's totally random, everyone gets to play the same fixtures eventually, so what bloody difference does it make? In fact, it's probably better to get them out of the way early, while you have a full strength team with no fatigue or injury issues to worry about.I hope it's not because Manchester United won the league quite comfortably last year [that] the fixtures have been made much more difficult.

Can't you see he's only saying what Fergie's told him to say.

I really cannot stand him now, I could tolerate him at Everton, but now he's ascended the throne due to abdication, he's getting the red carpet treatment wherever he goes... everytime I see him, I just see Gollum.. "gollum!! gollum!!|

Norwichs last 4 games of the season are Liverpool, Utd, Chelsea and Arsenal....but have we heard Houghton moaning?
ps. Think Norwich might need to be out of the relegation places with 4 games to go

No. And if anything, Houghton would have more cause to gripe because this run-in could cost them their Premier League place if they aren't safe by the time they get there. I don't see the rags having many issues with a tricky start as they tend to make it all up over Christmas anyway.shakencity wrote:Norwichs last 4 games of the season are Liverpool, Utd, Chelsea and Arsenal....but have we heard Houghton moaning?
I note that nobody over there complained about fixed draws in the last three CL seasons, when they were drawn against pub teams in the group stages. Funny, that.

Re: Getting the excuses in early
I thought the original fixtures were drawn up in February sent off to the various constabularies. After they had ok'd them they went to the clubs just in case there were some mitigating circumstances that the league needed to be aware of like when Blackpool's ground was not finished so they swapped a home fixture for an away one. The fixtures are then ratified by the premier & football leagues ruling bodies & published the 2nd or 3rd week of June. I read this on the BBC website a year or Two ago as it was to prove that match fixing or favouritism was not the reason some teams were always away after champs league fixtures.

UTDs games over Xmas are against lower half teams, so, is he moaning about that as well?

"The worse start to a season for Utd for 20 Years?"
What a joke, they expect everything to be handed to them on a plate. As has already been pointed out, other teams get bad starts or bad ends to the season in regards to fixtures but why is it always the rags that whine about it?
