Iniesta anyone?
http://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/436742/Man-United-and-Man-City-to-attempt-to-scupper-Iniesta-contract-talks
Doesn't look like he'll be moving from Barca, but could the lure of big money and a fresh challenge....not forgetting the link up with David Silva, just tempt him to the Etihad?
Wow, imagine a midfield with him in it.

He won't move. I can't see where we'd play him, really. And the rags can't afford him, as clearly shown by their borked attempts at signing other quality midfielders.

No chance or fat chance, take your pick. Just normal contractual guff.
I'm sure we'd find a space for him in our midfield if he was available. He's that good that we'd be able to drop a DM for him.

Agreed Dawg.Topdawg wrote:I'm sure we'd find a space for him in our midfield if he was available. He's that good that we'd be able to drop a DM for him.
But I also agree we won't get him.

I didn't even know the Express was still about...
It won't be much longer with that kind of tripe.

Yeah, heard that Messi and Ronaldo will be next to partner Sergio.

Re: Iniesta anyone?
Agents do this by leaking links between their guy and the big clubs that can actually afford to lure him away just to get him an improved contract at his current club. It's just like Rooney and Terry, load of bollox, never happen.

Re: Iniesta anyone?
Now you mention it, it does look very much like that.
As does this one: http://chelseafc360.com/2013/10/14/report-lewandowiski-open-to-chelsea-move/
Apparently Lewandowski is up to the same stunt. He's delaying re-signing for Dortmund, he's saying he's not interested in going to Bayern Munich, but he's open to the idea of Chelsea, us or the rags picking him up. So he's likely to stay put, with a massive pay raise.
What our people should do is issue a statement every time saying, nah, we're not interested.

Re: Iniesta anyone?
This time we aren't interested. Negredo is banging them in, Serge in a sure fire starter so no place for him.

Re: Iniesta anyone?
Lewandowski has shot himself in the foot big style all but signing for BM before Dormund played the master stroke of making him see out the last year on his contract. Pep doesn't rate or want him so now all of a sudden he doesn't want to move there. Got to love the spin at work there.
He is a good player but no better than we already have.
Now Iniesta if there is a sniff of truth in it could you just imagine our midfield. With the Spanish we already have it's not completely out of the question you know ....

Re: Iniesta anyone?
Ah so we did. My apologies. Yep, RL would be behind Negredo and Aguero, but I'd still have him in a heartbeat.
Especially over Dzeko/Jovetic. Although Jovetic looked half decent against England last week, though he didn't see the ball much. When he did, he looked good.

Re: Iniesta anyone?
Jovetic is just as good as RL if not better when he's fully fit i reckon, remember he is still short of match fitness but still looked pretty handy. He is certainly better than Dzeko who must now be 4th in the pecking order behind Negredo, Aguero and Jovetic.

Re: Iniesta anyone?
hmmm.... I'd have RL tomorrow. He's a very, very good player.
And...I'd have him over Jovetic and Dzeko, even before Jovetic signed for us.

Re: Iniesta anyone?
If we can get Lewandowski on a free at the end of the season then all well n good, failin that i'd tell him to do one....cheeky git.
Jovotic looked alright last Friday tbh, so we have to give him a chance and hopefully he'll prove to be a hit.
Anyway, i want Iniesta

We either say we're not interested or stick a bid in for him.
I get rather bored with these endless BS stories.

So do I. But then I guess it's part and parcel of where we are.

Re: Iniesta anyone?
I don't mind a swap deal but can't see it happening. Lewandowski is supposed to be on a 10M signing on fee with Bayern.
What may make him consider England is that I guess he'd earn double money at City or Chelsea over what Bayern are offering.
