Rantings from the loony bin

In the latest publicity piece for his new book, this time thinly disguised as a rallying cry for another league title, Old Piss has made two very bold statements that make me wonder whether this guy has some serious delusions:

Let it never be said that the purple nosed old tosspot can't overstate the importance of stuff that happened once upon a time that have no bearing on the current situation.  History will show that United are the only team that can come from behind to win the league?  Well, squire, I think you might just find that you're wrong; City won the league in the 11/12 season, coming from 8 points behind with just six games remaining.  And that's without going any further than 18 months back in time.  But I suppose it goes a long way to explaining why the rag fans bang on about history so much.

Talk about delusions of grandeur; this guy makes Kim Jong Un look humble!  Does he mean the biggest in the whole world?  Is he suggesting that managing a football club is bigger than, say, running a country?  Is he bigger than Barack Obama, or is it just his ego that is?  It's not the biggest job in football either, as I'm sure Sepp Blatter would argue.  Hell, it's not even the biggest job in Trafford Park, as I'm sure the owner of the McVities factory would attest to.  No, he managed a football club that happened to find success because he had more money to play with than anyone else for 18 of his 26 years in charge.

Oh, and it's not about helping anyone understand the size of the job.  It's an autobiography; the definition of which is a novel in which the writer is the main character, so it's nothing short of a piece of profitable self-indulgence.

I heard on the radio that he's broken the record for sales of a non-fiction book - something like 116,000 copies in three days.  I'm guessing there's not going to be a shortage of toilet paper in the Ferguson household for a long time...

There are so many people shouting cheat and liar after reading the book,it makes you wonder where Batman and Robin where!!
