According to Pellers, he's been rested because he's played in almost every single City game since he came back from Birmingham and he's also had to play for England in every International break.  He's therefore the only first teamer that isn't rested regularly (although one could argue keepers don't have that much to tire them).

So he'll be back for the game against CSKA and hopefully he'll have put these errors behind him and focus on getting us a step closer to the knockouts.

Tony Adams said this morning on' Goals on Sunday' that he didn't remember Dave Seaman ever getting "rested" if he was fit to play. I agree, keepers don't need rested i think its bollocks, he was dropped to give him a kick up the arse and to let him know that he is not indispensable.

Yeah...complete nonsense of an excuse. I would have been happier if MP just came out and was honest and said he needs a few weeks away from the game to get his head in a better place.

He could have backed that statement up with - "I think the amount of games he has played has taken it's toll on him mentally and maybe that's why he has made so many glaring errors of judgement".....and then we'd believe him.
