It was just pure good fortune.  If we weren't one of the relegated sides, I'd never have known, and I remember chuckling to myself at the time that it was a bad season to be called City.

9) I was thinking back to the 1st world cup I watched proper it was Mexico 1970. I am sure we beat Czechoslovakia 1-0 in the group and Allan Clarke scored a penalty, It was the 1st time i'd seen England wear an all light Blue strip.

The most caps will probably be a player from an association that has tons and tons of qualifying matches and the team will probably not be that good to allow that player to play for many years. Middle East teams play a fair few games and I think there are a few players with over 120-150 caps. CONCACEF and the South American federations play a lot of qualifying games too but I can't see an Argentinian or Brazilian having played over 100 games for his country and we don't know that he played in England.

Very possibly, Dawg.  I'd throw one of the ACON nations into the hat as a possible option as well as they play their own competition every year, so it's possible we're looking at an older African player.

Meh, it wasn't hard once you mentioned gates.  They have a larger away gate these days, now they play home games in Northampton.
