Mourinho's a prick. He said City are under the most pressure to win the PL title this season, i'd actually say Chelsea are....and he knows it.

Looking at the names Pellers mentions in the article, they're mainly the English lads.  It's of no surprise whatsoever to hear we're not selling any of them, because I really am struggling to come up with 8 homegrown players on our squad and if we sold any of them I think we'd fall foul of the ruling.

The home grown rule is that a club cannot have more than 17 non home grown players over 21 in their squad.

You could have a 17 man squad (of over 21s) with no HG players at all.

Rodwell, Guidetti count as U21

Ah, yes, I forgot that the rule was worded that way.  It's entirely possible to have a full squad without a single home-grown player in it.  Which makes it difficult to see how the FA have actually helped the national team in any way at all.

You could have a squad of 17 non HG and as many foreign U21s as you like.

I think Rodders was U21 the year we bought him but he is over for this season.  U21 players don't have to be named in 25 man squad.

To get back to the title comments-Mourinho is a dyed in the wool idiot.He is so full of himself that I think he shot himself in the foot at Real Madrid, and had to leave,and it looks as if he may well be doing the same at Chelsea.The one real threat to him in the Prem. is CITY,and he does not like the fact that we are Playing better football than his group of pensioners,so he has to sound off about anything he can.Last time it was the rags,but they are not a threat at the moment,and Fergie has left,but he will not get the same response from MP,thank god !!
