Dedryk not looking comfortable at all. Can't honestly see him staying even though he is playing out of position as he doesn't seem to have the composure. Same as Lezza.

Milner at RB for me on Sat. Boyata gets a nose bleed when he crosses the half way line. Navas was deeper and deeper when Zaba went off.

Cruise control 2nd half... nobody wants an injury...thought Jimmy was excellent again tonight....doesn't deserve to be dropped, so play him st RB.

Am in agreement He can do a better job at RB than Boyata but we will now deffo need to purchase more than 1 FB in January which thankfully is only a cople of weeks ago

These injuries are gonna seriously fuck up our season & we lose Yaya to that pain in the arse ANC in January too

Striker needed?.....there's already 5 at the club, he'll only get 1 in, if 1 maybe 2 (although with Serges injury i can't see that) are shipped out.
Right back, agree, but we probably have to rid ourselves of Richards in order to bring one in......we have Boyata & Milner as cover.
Can't see any movement at LB to be honest, can see him keeping the 2 we already have.
Finally, as regards CB, again we have 5 at the club, so unless he sells/loans 1 or 2 out, i can't see him getting anyone in here either.

All in all, i obviously can't see a right lot of movement in January     

Maybe so Den, but letting Kolo go, in hindsight, wasn't great. Yes we have to move forwards, but we wouldn't have needed DM who isn't good enough or young enough for the future. And Kolo would have played RB.

I might be in the minority here Dawg, but i actually think Demichellis is ok, although i agree he's not one for the future....but Nasty and Boyata are, so i think we have that area covered.

The only position i see as a priority in January is RB and we have to get rid of Micah this season too, we just cannot rely on him anymore.

A RB is an absolute MUST in Jan....we've never been able to rely on Micah for the past 2 years, which means even if Zaba is out for 1-2 weeks....Micah won't be back for another month or so....we need to line up a replacement for the beginning of Jan...and no fucking fat Maicon style player!!

I still think we need a top class CB....which as Shaken said, means loaning or selling another - Boyata would be perfect for a loan signing for WBA, Hull etc...maybe come the summer we may get £5m or so for him....he's never looked top class and as Dawg said, MD is too slow for the PL and get's caught out of position too many times...and was a last ditched signing. To progress further in the CL and win the PL, our defence will have to be superb. We can't go on scoring 5 and 6 goals to get us 3 points when we are conceding 2 or 3...so games may become tight and be won 1-0, 2-1 with our defenders being even more important if the likes of Sergio IS out for 2 months.

I think we are OK at LB...and unless we can do a deal/swap for Dzeko...for somebody like Lewandowski...I think MP will stick with what he's got up front.

I agree we are ok at LB, not brilliant though. I don't believe that Boyata is one for our future, though Nasty is. I'd still like a top CB to go with Vinnie (who is a bit injury prone himself).

If Zabba is injured short term (1-2 weeks) then we can get by. If the injury is 4 weeks+ we need some cover. Jimmy will do a decent job there but he is better employed elsewhere.

Micah, love him that I do, is not back up anymore. He is only good for backup to the backups and that means he is surplus to requirements now.

We can probably get by without Sergio for a couple of months but Jovetic is pretty much injured or sick all the time so we are pretty thin if he doesn't use Guidetti.

don't think the acn is every year, was only last year coz this year is the world cup year. So I don't think we will lose yaya this year. Didn,t Rodwell play a few times at the back for Everton?

There are not many top class RB/CB that will be available in January - unless we spend big money.

RB does worry me....Zaba can't play every game and wouldn't have played last night and got injured if Micah was available.

Boyata is NO RB.

Milner can comfortably play there - but the way he has played this season - we would lose a big part of our attacking intent in MF....though I guess we will still have cover if he had to play RB. Which means for me, we DO need cover there as well as another top class CB.

If Nasty is fully fit - or when Nasty is fully fit - DeM and Lescott can be cover for him....but neither of them fill me with huge confidence against CL opposition or when we are 1-0 and need to see the game out...as they make too many positional errors that may see us punished.

Remember, Nasty is only 20...and still has another 2 or 3 years to gain more experience - so I'd get rid of Lescott in Jan - and buy a top class CB to be number 1 with Vinny..IMO.

Problem is, they would no doubt be cup-tied for the CL...but I'd be happy with Vinny and Nasty in that competition.

hmmmm...RB/CB needed, versatile, still young, not getting regular football, but got over 100 caps for his country...great tackler, brilliant on the ball, scores goals, quick......

For me...the solution is simple...it may cost us £20m+....but we get 2 players in 1....

Spanish team mates around him, Spanish speaking manager, new challenge ahead of the WC.....makes sense to me if the rumours I posted on here last month are true that he wants a move away.

Decent shout bluey. Plays RB when Zabba is out and CB when Zabba is in until the summer when we get a decent uninjured RB as cover for Zabba.

If we could only buy one player in January, I'd want a top class CB who can play RB when needed.

Hummels & subotic are both injured not sure how long for. I think Subotic is out for the season seem to remember reading it somewhere. Just read on the os that wabara is also injured until new year.

Wabara? Not being funny, but I wouldn't him anywhere near the first 11 in the PL or CL as cover for Zaba....as good a prospect as he may be.....nowhere near enough 1st experience...now is not a time to be trying to blood some kid...League Cup/Fa Cup...maybe..not PL or CL.

How many games have you seen Wabara play? And for the first team?

I'm all for the kids getting a chance - especially the likes of Rusnak and Lopez...but defenders are something else.

If Southampton lose...it's not such a big deal....Shaw was introduced into the team when Southampton weren't doing anything, Jenkinson has been introduced into the Arsenal team, bit by bit over the past 2 seasons - mainly in Cup games, Clyne the same as Shaw...Gibbs, the same as Jenkinson.

To rely on an unproven kid at RB, in the key PL/CL games would be potentially suicidal.

Now, is definitely NOT the time to be taking chances on kids in these 2 competitions. If he was that good...how come he's hardly ever played?
