Re: FA Cup draw
Well if we win we should go all the way
If we lose there is no shame
Only problem being Barcelona 3 days later !!!

Re: FA Cup draw
Barcelona 3 days later is of no consequence, we have to play our strongest team against Chelsea and hopefully again against Barcelona providing we get no injuries. These are games where we have to go full strength at it and nothing less will do.

Exactly. If we're going to be the best, this is the sort of fixture set we need to be prepared for. The outcome of both these games will show us where we are.ManCityMan wrote:Barcelona 3 days later is of no consequence
Although we do have a little wiggle room with the fact we play Barca twice, so we've always got the away leg to put things right. Yes, yes, I know, big ask going to the Nou Camp and win, but we did it before and remember we've also beaten the current European champs in their own back yard.

Also we are a better team than the one that beat them before, at our best we can beat any team in the world and i never thought i would hear myself saying that.

Re: FA Cup draw
As I said earlier - watched them last night against Malaga....and they were nowhere near the team they were last season or the season before.
The defence looks wide open to a counter attack at pace, their MF obviously has Messi and Xavi...but if Malaga can make them look awkward and ineffective at the Nou Camp....I'm sure we can.
The only issue I see is the old argument of Yaya in a defensive MF role, as Barca will pass around him easy.
Be interesting to see how MP goes about the MF battle as that's where it will have to be won.
IF.....Micah could ever get up to speed and get his fitness levels where they need to be....I think Micah at RB and Zaba in a DMF role with Fernandhino would be a perfect suit against Barca's MF....with Yaya just ahead of them with Silva, Nasri/Navas, Aguero and Negredo.

Re: FA Cup draw
It may be spot on but I just can't see MP playing the same team twice in 3 days. He likes to use the squad
Clichy Lescott Jimmy if fit, Jovetic, Dzeko will all play in one of the 2 games I reckon

Don't doubt that TMG....that's why it'll be interesting where his priorities are.....who he plays the strongest against...or does he try to even the squad out for each?
I think we can do it for both - MF and Strikers...but still have this nagging doubt that we are too short in the centre of defence.
